Majhighariani Institute of Technology & Science is shortly called as MITS and the institute began its journey in the year 1999 under the patronage of Basantadevi Charitable Trust. The institute holds the pride of being the first ever-technological institution in the state of Orissa to get awarded by the Rajiv Gandhi Sadbhawana Award in the year 2004 for offering the best technical education in the state of Orissa.

Now, the institute has become an ISO 9001: 2008 certified institution and it is affiliated to the Berhampur University and the Biju Patnai University of Technology, it has also earned approval from the All India Council for Technical Education.

Eligibility requirement:

Diploma courses: For getting into the Diploma courses offered MITS, candidates must have completed their 10th standard and they must be DET rank holders.

UG Courses: For BCA course, candidates with higher secondary in arts, science or commerce stream with not less than 40% aggregate marks are eligible to apply. Eligibility requirement with respect to B. Sc (Biotech) course is that candidates must have completed their higher secondary with biology as a subject securing not less than 40% of aggregate marks. For B. Tech course, candidates must have completed their higher secondary with computer science/biotechnology/biology/chemistry, mathematics and physics.

PG Courses: For M. Sc computer science course, candidates with B. Sc with mathematics as a subject in the higher secondary level securing not less than 45% of marks in the case of honors degree and 50% of marks in the case of general degree are eligible to apply. For other M. Sc courses, candidates with the same percentage mark requirement like in computer science course along with biology as a subject at the higher secondary level are eligible to apply. For M. Tech computer science course, candidates must have completed their B. Tech in information technology or computer science engineering or M. Sc in computer science/physics/mathematics or MCA with 50% aggregate marks. For M. Tech in Information Technology course, candidates with ECE/EEE or M. Sc Electronics/physics/mathematics with not less than 50% of aggregate marks are eligible to apply.
