Synod College, Shillong is a co-educational institution running under the control of Khasi Jaintia Presbyterian Synod Sepngi, which was established in the year 1965 as a registered society. The college is affiliated to the North Eastern Hill University and the college is functioning with its motto as ‘ever higher ever brighter’. The institute has earned re-accreditation with A grade status from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council.

Courses offered:

Synod College offers graduation courses in Arts, Science and commerce stream and the duration of the degree courses (with and without honors) is three years. Admission of students to the second and third year of these courses will be done based on their completion of their previous year courses.

Admissions at Synod College:

Application for admission of students in prescribed format will be accepted by the college immediately after the announcement of the higher secondary results in the states of Meghalaya. When submitting the applications, candidates will have to attach attested copy of mark sheet of the qualifying higher secondary examination. Admission is offered by the colleges on merit on first-come-first serve basis after personal interview with the principle.

Documents to be submitted by selected candidates:

If a candidate has been selected for admission after interview with the principal, he/she will have to submit copies of the following documents:

• A recent passport size photo singed by the candidate

• Caste certificate in the case of ST/SC/OBC candidates

• Original of migration certificate in the case of candidates with higher education from any Boards other than the higher education board of Meghalaya

• Character certificate from the principal of the college or school previously attended by the candidates

• Original TC certificate from the college or school last attended by the candidate

• Attested copy of mark sheet of the last examination passed by the candidate
