Tripura Public Service Commission shortly called as TPSC is responsible for conducting of examinations for appointment of candidates to various services in the state of Tripura and to make direct recruitment to the ministerial and subordinate services. The commission is also responsible for advising the government on principles to be followed in making appointments, transfers and promotions from a service to another.

Recruitment by TPSC:

Tripura Public Service Commission has invited applications from eligible candidates for taking up the Tripura Combined Competitive Examination for the purpose of recruitment of candidates for different government job positions in Tripura, which includes the position of of Panchayat Extension Officer, Gr.C, Non-gazetted under Panchayat Department the state and here are the details regarding the notification issued by the commission for the same:

Name of the Vacancy: Panchayat Extension Officer, Gr.C, Non-gazetted under Panchayat Department

Number of Vacancies: Total number of vacancies is 21, which is dived among different categories of candidates as follows:

• UR – 03

• ST – 10

• SC - 08

Pay scale: Candidates appointed for the position of Panchayat Extension Officer Grade C will be coming under the pay band – 2 of Rs.5310-24000/- with Grade Pay of Rs.2400.

Eligibility requirements:

Education: Candidates must be degree holders in any discipline from a recognized university and they should possess knowledge of Bengali.

Age: As on the 10th of February 2012, candidates must be between the age group of 18 and 37 years of age and this is relaxable by five years for SC/ST/PH and government servants and government servants belonging to SC/ST/PH category will not get this relaxation over and above the general relaxation of five years available for their category.

Recruitment fee:

Rate of recruitment fee is Rs.100 and this fee is applicable only for reserved category candidates, while Rs.50 should be paid by candidates falling under ST/ST/BPL care holders and PH category.

Selection procedure:

Selection will be based on marks secured by candidates in TPSC combined examination, which will include three stages, preliminary examination, main examination and personality test. Candidates can collect guidelines for Tripura Combined Competitive examination for recruitment to miscellaneous posts from the reception counter of the TPSC Secretariat on cash payment of Rs.10 or it can also be downloaded from the website of the commission at www.tpsc.gov.in

Candidates will have to apply in prescribed format as given in http://www.tpsc.gov.in/Appl.%20Form.pdf or application can also be obtained from any of the total 111 number of extension counters of Tripura Gramin Bank located in different places of rural and urban areas in the state of Tripura on depositing of prescribed fee through the specialist deposit slip to the account number 14711 in favor of the Secretary, TPSC in the same Extension counter/branch as a single window system without any extra commission or charge from the candidates. In the case of other state candidates application form can be downloaded from the said website and these candidates will have to pay fee to the Account number 31176521319 of the SBI in favor of the Secretary, Tripura Public Service Commission. When submitting the application, the bank deposit receipt should be affixed with the application. Application must be submitted to the counter of TPSC Secretariat or it can also be sent through post to the Tripura Public Service Commission before the 10th of February 2012.
