Assistant Directors, Food Safety and Standards Authority of India
Food Safety and Standards Authority of India was established under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006. The authority performs all its operations or functions under the administrative control of Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India. The authority has its head office located at Delhi. The authority can be considered as a single reference point for all matters realted to food safety and standards. The main idea behind the establishment of this authority was to regulate the manufacturing, distribution and sales for ensuring the availabilitty of safe food.
Job Profile:
Food Safety and Standards Authority of India is inviting applications from eligible candidates for filling up the posts of Assistant Directors (PAQA/ Surveillance/ Enforcement/ Codex/ Zones). Only eligible Indian Nationals are invited to apply for the specified positions. Candidates will be recruited on the specified technical services purely on deputation basis. The jobs includes short term contract or contract (outsourced). The initial period of deputation for the specified position in Food Safety and Standards Authority of India is of three years only.
Eligibility:
Interested candidates must possess the age more than the prescribed minimum age limit but not more than the prescribed maximum age limit. Candidates should strictly follow this age criteria or else they will not be considered eligible for the post. The maximum age limit set for the post of Assistant Director in Food Safety and Standards Authority of India is 56 years as on the last date for the reciept of application. Reserved categories candidates may get relaxation in the upper age limit.
Educational Qualification:
Interested candidates are required to be Officers holding analogous or equivalent posts on regular basis from Central or State Government or Autonomous bodies or equivalent etc. Candidates are also required to possess minimum eight years regular service experience under Pay Band II i.e. Rs. 9300-34800 with the Grade Pay of Rs. 4200. Candidates should also have done Master’s degree or equivalent from a recognized institute or university in the disciplines of Chemistry or Bio Chemistry or Dairy technology, Edible Oil Technology, Agriculture Science, Veterinary Sciences, Nutrition/ Toxicology etc. However, candidates with Doctorate degree in any of the concerned discipline, are desirable for the post.

Pay Scale: Selected candidates will be paid the salary under the pay band III i.e. Rs. 15600-39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 5400.

No application fee is need to be paid by the interested candidates for applying for the posts of Assistant Directors in Food Safety and Standards Authority of India.
Selection Process:
A Selection Committee will take the interview test of each and every shortlisted candidates and decide over the issue of best suitable candidates for the specified position. No other test except this interview is need to be faced by the candidates.
