Recruitment of Clerks in Bombay High Court is conducted on the basis of written test and interview. Graduates in any discipline with computer knowledge and English Typing skills are eligible to apply. They should have adequate knowledge in Marathi. Selection procedure includes screening test, English Typing Test and Viva Voce.

Eligibility Criterion for Bombay High Court Clerk Recruitment

Graduates in any discipline from a recognized University are eligible to apply for this post. Candidates who have completed graduation in Law will be given preference. Those who have completed 18 years of age and not more than 33 years can only apply. Candidates belonging to reserved categories can enjoy relaxation in terms of upper age limit as per the norms issued by the State government. Physically challenged candidates can have an upper age limit up to 45 years. Candidates should be able to read and write Marathi. In addition to this, candidates should have passed any of the following courses.

  • Government Commercial Certificate Examination
  • Government Board Examination
  • T. I.  Examination for English Typing with speed of 40 words per minute

They are required to submit Certificate of Computer proficiency in operation of word processors and in Windows and Linux in addition to M.S. Office issued from any of the following institutions such as

  • Universities established under the Maharashtra Universities Act
  • Goa/Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education
  • CDAC/ N I C/ APTECH/ NIIT

Exam Pattern for Bombay High Court Clerk Recruitment Test

Eligible candidates will be called for screening test in which objective type questions will be asked from the following topics.

  • General Knowledge
  • Computer Knowledge
  • General English

There will be a total of 20 questions which should be completed within 40 minutes. Each question carries one mark. Those who have cleared the screening test will have to clear English typing test and viva voce/ interview. Final selection will be based on the scores obtained in screening test, typing test, interview and submission of relevant documents.

Application Procedure for Bombay High Court Clerk Recruitment

Eligible candidates are required to apply online in the prescribed format available from the official website of Bombay High Court. Candidates will have to upload scanned copies of recent passport size photograph and signature in jpeg format. Please ensure that total file size is not exceeding 40 KB. Candidates will receive a unique registration ID as well as acknowledgement slip for future reference.  Candidates are required to pay Rs. 100/- as examination fees. Fee payment should be made by taking a demand draft in favor of “Registrar, High Court, Appellate Side, Bombay”, payable in Bombay. No other way of fee payment is allowed.

Candidates are required to mention name and Acknowledgment ID number on the back side of Demand Draft. They should affix passport size photograph and signature in black ink in space provided in Acknowledgment slip. A copy of acknowledgment slip and Demand draft should be sent by Registered Post or Speed Post to the Registrar, (Personnel), High Court, Appellate Side, Fort, Bombay – 400 032 within stipulated time.
