Eligibility Requirements and Selection Process for Executive Trainee in OPGC 2013

Engineering graduates with a minimum of 65% marks can apply for Executive Trainee post in Odisha Power Generation Corporation (OPGC) Ltd. Applications will be received till 16 January 2013. Selection of eligible candidates is done via written test, GD and interview. Written test include questions related to general awareness, technical knowledge and reasoning.

Eligibility Criterion for Executive Trainee Recruitment in OPGC

Engineering degree from a recognized University with a minimum of 65% marks is the basic qualification required. Age of the applicant must be less than 25 years. OBC candidates can expect age relaxation up to 3 years where as SC/ST and PH candidates up to 5 years.

OPGC often conducts recruitment of Executive Trainees in the following disciplines.

  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Control & Instrumentation
  • Civil Engineering
  • Mining Engineering

Eligibility requirements may vary slightly with discipline. Those who are applying for Executive Trainee (Mechanical) post should have an engineering degree in any of the following subjects.

  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Production Engineering
  • Production & Industrial Engineering
  • Thermal Engineering
  • Mechanical & Automation Engineering
  • Power Engineering

For Executive Trainee (Electrical), B.Tech degree must be completed in any of the following subjects.

  • Electrical Engineering
  • Electrical & Electronics Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Instrumentation & Control Engineering
  • Power System and High Voltage Engineering
  • Power Electronics Engineering
  • Power Engineering

For Executive Trainee (Control & Instrumentation), B.Tech degree must be completed in any of the following subjects.

  • Instrumentation Engineering
  • Control & Instrumentation Engineering
  • Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering

For Executive Trainee (Mining) and Executive Trainee (Civil), engineering degree must be obtained in streams of Mining Engineering and Civil Engineering respectively.

Selection Process for Executive Trainee Recruitment in OPGC

Selection of eligible candidate is done on the basis of written test, Group Discussion and interview. Written exam will be conducted for 2 hours and there will be a total of 120 questions. Syllabus for the exam is based on the following topics

  • General Awareness
  • Technical Knowledge
  • Reasoning

There will be 24 questions each for the sections of reasoning and general awareness. Rest of the 72 questions will be asked from technical knowledge section.

Interested candidates can apply for the job position through the web portal of OPGC. Applications can be submitted through online method. Before filling the online application form, applicant should pay the application fee. Application fee amounts to Rs. 100/- and this can be paid in the form of demand draft. Details on fee payment must be entered correctly in the application form.
