Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) often invites applications for the position of Assistant Sub-Inspector (Stenographers) ASI (Steno) and Head Constable (Ministeral) (HC (Min)). Male/Female candidates having qualified intermediate (10 + 2) exam can participate in the selection process. Recruitment is done after evaluating candidate’s written exam, skill test and medical examination. General Intelligence, Numerical Aptitude, Clerical Aptitude, etc are the topics from which questions are asked for the entrance test.

Eligibility Criteria for CRPF ASI (Steno)/ HC (Min) Recruitment

Pass in intermediate/12th from any of the recognized board or University is the basic qualification required. Age of the candidate must fall somewhere between 18 and 25 years. Category wise reservation in age can be expected by OBC (3 years) and SC/ST (5 years) candidates. Those applying for the position of ASI (Steno) must have proficiency in short hand. Dictation needed is 10 minutes @ 80 words per minute and translation speed required is 50 minutes (English) and 65 minutes (Hindi).

Other than this, eligible candidate must satisfy certain physical standards also. Height requirements for male and female candidates are 165cm and 155 cm respectively. Weight must be in proportionate with height and age. They must have adequate medical and visual standards as specified by medical standard in force.

Selection Procedure for CRPF ASI (Steno)/ HC (Min) Recruitment

Selection process is conducted in two stages. First stage includes verification of documents, written exam and physical measurements.

Marks certificates of 10th and 12th class and caste certificates (if applicable) are verified during document verification process.  Candidates qualified at this level will be subjected for physical measurements. In the written exam there will be 200 questions of objective model. Questions will be categorized under the following sections.

• Hindi/English Language
• General Intelligence
• Numerical Aptitude
• Clerical Aptitude

Total time allotted for answering the test is 2 hours. Each section carries 50 questions and each correct answer fetches 1 mark. General candidates need to score 80 marks to qualify in the written test. Qualifying marks required for SC/ST/OBC candidates is 70 marks.

Second stage is carried out through the following steps.

• Typing Speed test
• Short hand speed test
• Document Verification
• Interview
• Medical Examination

Those who pass the first stage of the selection process can move to the second stage.  Typing/ short hand speed test are of qualifying nature and no marks is awarded for the section.
