Assistant Sub Inspector (Technical) - Central Reserve Police Force


The Central Reserve Police Force, shortly called as CRPF is a government agency that came into existence in the year 1939 on the 27th of July. This police force is operating with the motto of ‘service and loyalty’ and it is the largest of Central Armed Police Forces in the nation. The basic role of CRPF is offering assistance to the Union Territories/states of the nation in police operations for maintaining law and order and contains insurgency.

Recruitment by Central Reserve Police Force:

The Central Reserve Police Force has called for applications from male Indian candidates for filling up of vacancies in the rank of Assistant Sub Inspector (Technical) and here are the details regarding the notification issued by CRPF in this respect:

Name of the Vacancy: Assistant Sub-Inspector (Technical)

Number of Vacancies: Total number of vacancies is 69, which is divided among the different categories of candidates as given below:

1. SC – 16

2. ST – 07

3. OBC – 14

4. General – 26

5. Ex-Servicemen – 06 (SC-01, OBC – 02 and General – 03)

Eligibility requirements:

Education: Candidates must have completed their matriculation with general science, mathematics and English subjects with three year diploma in computer/electronics/radio engineering from a recognized institution. Even candidates with Bachelor of Science with English, Mathematics and Physics subjects are eligible to apply for the position of Assistant Sub Inspector (Technical).

Age: Lower age limit is 18 years and upper age limit is 25 years as on the 10th of April 2012, the upper age limit for SC/ST candidates is relaxable by five years and for ex-servicemen and other category candidates, relaxation will be according to the rules of Government. Relaxation applicable for departmental candidates is five years and additional five years and three years relaxation will be applicable for department candidates belonging to SC/ST and OBC category respectively.

Selection Procedure:

Selection procedure will include physical measurement, physical efficiency test and written test. Finally there will also be interview and personality test for candidates getting through the first three stages of tests.

Application fee:

Application fee to be paid by general category candidates is Rs.100, while in the case of other reserved category candidates, there is no application fee. The fee should be paid in the form of Crossed Indian Postal Order (non-refundable) in favor of Commondant, Signal BN, CRPF payable at HPO/GPO of appropriate city where application is sent by the candidate. Recruitment centres are located at Nagpur, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Kolkata, Hyderabad and New Delhi.

Candidates will have to apply only to the recruitment centres in prescribed format as given in Annexure A of notification page at and the application should be neatly hand-written.
