Postgraduate Entrance Examination (PGEE) 2013 is conducted for admission to M.Tech/M.S/Ph.D programmes offered at Indian Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad, (IIIT-H). Engineering /Science graduates in specific streams can apply. Eligible candidates can submit applications online, through the web portal of PGEE, till 22nd March 2013. There will be aptitude based and subject related questions for PGEE. Application process for the test can be done through two stages, pre registration and main registration.

Eligibility for PGEE 2013

Candidates who have completed their undergraduate courses in any branch of Engineering (B. Tech/ B.E./ B.Arch.etc) or going to complete by July 2013 are eligible to apply. Candidates with degree in B.Sc (Agriculture/physics/ biology/chemistry) or equivalent are also eligible to apply. Candidates with M. Tech/MCA/ M.Sc/ M.A are eligible to apply for post graduate research programs in areas of Electronics, Computer Science, Computational Linguistics, VLSI and Computer Engineering, Bioinformatics, Computational Natural Sciences, Humanities and more.

Pattern for PGEE 2013

There will be two papers for the entrance test, Paper I and Paper II. Paper-I is a general aptitude paper and comprise questions on numerical ability, logical reasoning, computers and mathematics. Time allotted for answering this paper is one and half hours.  Paper II will be based on their graduation subject studied by the candidate. They are required to appear for any of the following subject papers.

• Computational Natural Sciences and Bioinformatics
• Structural Engineering
• Computational Linguistics

Time allotted for completing subject based paper is also 1 ½ hours.

Application Procedure for PGEE 2013

Application process for PGEE can be done through two stages, pre registration and main registration. General details of the candidate must be entered in the pre registration form. Successful completion of pre registration will issue an identification code and a link. This link opens to main registration form. Here aspirants have to select option for application fee payment. Application fee can be paid in the form of demand draft drawn in favor of IIIT-Hyderabad or through credit card. This amounts to Rs. 1200/- for one course and Rs. 50/- extra for each additional course applied. Application process will complete with main registration.
