Bharathidasan Institute of Management (BIM) conducts an admission process for admission to its two year MBA program. Bharathidasan Institute of Management was established in 1984 in collaboration with Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL). BIM is a highly reputed institute for management education. BIM has also been rated among the top management institutes in the country by various B-School surveys. It has a yearly intake of 120 students in its MBA program.

Candidates are primarily shortlisted for this program through their CAT scores. Therefore for attaining admission within the MBA program of BIM, candidates have to appear for CAT Exam. The candidates who are shortlisted are then called for a Personal Interview and Group Discussion for final selection process. The short listing of the candidates in the first step is made through assessment of the individual’s marks in CAT exam.

Eligibility criteria:

Candidates should have a 3 year’s bachelor degree or its equivalent from any of the recognized institute with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks or its equivalent CGPA. Candidates who are in their final year of graduations are also eligible to apply.

Availability of Application forms:

The application form for BIM can be obtained by post from BIM by sending a Demand Draft along with the request for form. Candidates can also apply online through the website www.bim.edu. Candidates are advised to carefully go through each and every instructions as per mentioned in the website and then only fill up the application form. Beside this, candidates can also apply through post for which they have to send a requisite letter along with a Demand Draft, drawn in favor of the Registrar of the Institute.

Selection process:

Candidates who are selected from the first round are then shortlisted on the basis of their respective CAT scores. The shortlisted candidates only are then called for a series of Personal Interviews and Group Discussion and after which the final selections are made. However there are other factor such as extracurricular activities, past record of academic of the individual candidate, past job experience, etc are some that may lead to a certain level of edge to the chances of admission of the individual in the final selection procedure.
