Central Laboratories for Scientific & Industrial Research (CLSIR) was renamed as Indian Institute of Chemical Technology in the year 1989. It is one of the premier R&D institute present in the country. The institute is well known for the expertise developed by the institute in the field of chemical technology. Drugs & Intermediates, Fine Chemicals, Physical Chemistry are the major areas of research at IICT.
