Admission Process for M.Tech (Material Science and Engineering) in JIIT

Intake capacity for M.Tech (Material Science and Engineering) in Jaypee Institute of Information Technology (JIIT) is 20. Admission to this limited number of seats is done on the basis of GATE or PGET conducted at JIIT. For PGET questions will be asked from topics like Compton scattering, Dielectric constant, Heat engines, Maxwell’s equations and NMR Spectroscopy.

Eligibility and Admission Process for M.Tech (Material Science and Engineering) in JIIT

Engineering graduates as well as M.Sc holders can apply for M.Tech (Material Science and Engineering). The qualification must be obtained from any of the reputed institutes in subjects of Electronics, Physics and Chemistry. M.Sc graduates must have studied Physics and Mathematics at degree level also.
Admissions to the course are done either on the basis of GATE or Post Graduate Entrance Test (PGET) conducted at JIIT. Candidates with low score in GATE can also attend PGET.

PGET is an objective model test carrying 4 alternative answers for each question. Number of questions is 50. Each question carries 2 marks to make a total of 100 marks. One mark will be reduced for each incorrect answer. Time duration allotted for the completion of the exam is 1 and half hours.

Application Procedure for M.Tech (Material Science and Engineering) in JIIT

Applications can be submitted online through the website of Jaypee. It is also possible to submit applications offline through the web portal of JIIT. In both the cases, candidates need to pay an application fee of Rs. 700/-. This should be paid in the form of Demand Draft payable at Noida/ Delhi.
