Alder College came into existence in the year 1992 and the college has earned permanent affiliation from the Nagaland University. The institute is also recognized by the University Grants Commission under the UGC Act 1956.

Admission policy:

Admission of students to the different courses offered by the Alder College is done either on the basis of entrance examination or on the basis of the marks secured in the qualifying examination, which is the higher secondary examination or even both.

Facilities:

Alder College has a well-furnished library that is being constantly upgraded with latest edited books to meet the educational needs of the teachers and students. The library also subscribes for a number of journals in such a way that students can keep themselves updated about the latest events in the society. The library is located in the top floor in a quiet atmosphere that is highly suitable for studying. The college has sufficient number of classrooms that are furnished well and airy. In addition, there is a hostel for the men students located at a five minutes walkable distance from the college and the name of the hostel is Heritage Hostel. Other infrastructural facilities include canteen, computer facility, photocopy facility and internet access.
