Annamalai University, situated in Annamalainagar, is a well known university in India. The university offers many courses at the undergraduate level. One such course is a degree course in Physics- B.Sc. in Physics. The course is of the duration of three years.

In the first year of the course there is a paper on Properties of Matter and Thermal Physics. The exam of the subject is of three hours time duration and the maxim um mar5ks carried by the paper are 100. There are three sections in the paper. The first section consists of short answer type questions. Out of the fifteen questions given in this section ten are to be answered. Each question carries 2 marks. So the total of Section A is 20.

The next section consists of five questions, each carrying 7 marks. All the questions are to be answered. However, each question is given with a choice. Thus the total marks carried by Section B are 35.

The third section consists of long answer type questions. Out of the five questions given three are to be answered and each question carries 15 marks. Section C, thus carries 45 marks in total.
