Even though both these courses are teaching courses, the training programs and curriculum of these two courses are completely different. B.Ed is a graduate degree in Education and the D.Ed is a Diploma in Education.

B.Ed

B.Ed is a bachelor’s degree level course in Education. The candidate who wishes to join B.Ed will have to have finished their graduate degree in Science or Arts disciplines. Only those who fulfill this requirement are qualified to do the B.Ed course. They should also have a score of above 55% in the qualifying exam. The candidates who have successfully completed a B.Ed course are eligible to seek jobs in any government or even private education institutions. Candidates who have good score and exceptional potential can look for jobs in leading international schools or other educational institutes. After a B.Ed, the qualified personnel can teach at primary, middle as well as higher education level. This will depend upon the level of experiences gained by the individual over the year.

D.Ed

Individuals who desire to pursue the Diploma in Education course must have a pass in class 12. Multiple choices are available for people who have completed their studies. (i) They do the B.Ed course or (ii) get employed with educational institutions or nurseries. Because of the many nurseries that are there all over the globe, the job opportunities for a person with a D. Ed degree are quite high. It is possible for a person to get jobs in day cares or any other institution of the private or public sectors. Those who are interested can also start their own nurseries.

  • Even though D.Ed and B.Ed. deals with training programs in education, there are entirely different from one another. While D.Ed qualifies a person to teach at the nursery level, B.Ed degree enables a person to teach students of the class 12 level.

Which course is better?
