Bishop Kurialacherry College for Women was established in the year 1965 and the college is named after the Servant of God, Mar Thomas Kurialacherry.

The college is affiliated with Mahatma Gandhi University and won the accreditation of NAAC in 1999. Further it has been rewarded with the B+ + Grade in 2007, due to the tremendous service and reputation it has gained.

The campus is situated at Amalagiri a suburban city, 10 Kms away from Kottayam.

Several Enrichment Programs are available in this campus for which certification will be issued after successful completion of the course.

Certification courses offered in this institute are:-

1) Communicative English Language Teaching (CELT)

2) Home Living Education Management (HLEM)

3) Basic Skills in Computer Application (BSCA)

CELT includes giving training in essential grammar, listening comprehension, and training in speaking. HLEM course is scheduled for three months and is usually held on Saturdays and holidays. The program gives training in all basic artistic skills to the students. This includes, cooking, painting, cushion making, flower making, designing, hair designing and beauty tips and training in bouquet making. BSCA course empowers the students with basic knowledge of computer operations.

Admission process is done by the Management of the college and Government of Kerala.

Facilities:

The college holds a computerized library with vast collection of books, journals and periodicals. It supports well equipped lab for each department. The co-operative society and store supplies stationery items to the students at cheaper cost. The campus also includes a canteen and reprographic center for the benefit of the students. Two hostels are available for all the women students at reasonable cost. It also maintains a working women’s hostel for employed ladies.
