Admission to medical, dental and engineering courses in Karnataka is carried out on the basis of COMEDK UGET – The Consortium of Medical Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka under Graduate Entrance Test. There will be objective type questions from subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics in this examination. Those who have completed 17 years of age are only eligible to apply. The examination is conducted in various centers across the State of Karnataka in the month of May.
Eligibility Criterion for COMEDK UGET

Candidates who have completed Higher Secondary education in science stream from recognized board of education are eligible to apply for this exam. Those who wish to apply for MBBS/ BDS courses are required to secure at least 50% marks in aggregate in qualifying examination. They should have studied subjects such as Physics, Chemistry and Biology in Higher Secondary level. Those who are belonging to Other Backward Class, Scheduled Tribe and Scheduled Caste from the state of Karnataka are required to secure 45% marks so as to be eligible.

Candidates who are applying for engineering courses should have studied subjects such as Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry in Higher Secondary level. They are required to secure a minimum of 45% marks in these subjects so as to be eligible.

Candidates should have studied English as a subject in Higher Secondary Course. Applicants are required to complete 17 years of age at the time of admission.

Exam Pattern of COMEDK UGET

The examination comprises of two papers. Paper I contains questions from two subjects such as Physics and Chemistry. There will be a maximum of one hundred and twenty questions in this section. Each subject contains 60 questions. Questions will be multiple choice objective type formats. Candidates will be given 2 hours so as to answer all these questions.

Paper II will contain questions from the subjects, Biology and Mathematics. There will be 60 questions from each subject. Each question carries one mark. Maximum time allotted for answering all these questions is one hundred and twenty minutes. There will be no negative marking for wrong answers. If there is a tie in marks, candidates older in age will be taken in to consideration.

Application Procedure

Candidates are required to apply online from the official website of COMEDK. Those who are applying for three subjects are required to pay Rs. 700/- as examination fee and for four papers, the fee is Rs. 900/-. Payment can be done by taking a demand draft in favor of “COMEDK”, payable at Bangalore. Those who have successfully completed the online application form will receive system generated application. Aspirants are required to take print out of system generated application form and send it along with DD to regional center.
