The Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology holds an undergraduate entrance exam for the admission of candidates into the B.Tech course.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who aspire to apply for this program must have finished their class 12 with Chemistry and Physics. The candidates must also have taken Mathematics as a subject. The students ought to have scored at least 50 percent marks in the final year exam. Graduates in the related division of Engineering are also eligible to apply for the SMIT UGET. They should have a score of minimum of 50 % marks that is graded by the State Board of Technical Education.  Those candidates who are appearing in the qualifying examination can also submit an application for the exam. The SMIT UGET paper will include topics on Mathematics, Chemistry and General English along with Physics.

Application Procedure

Candidates can submit an application for the SMIT UGET exam by two ways. They are:

Online Method

The application form can be downloaded by the candidates from the authorized website of the Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology. The filled up form should be sent to the Director, SMIT along with a DD of the requisite amount. All the essential documents should be attached to the form.

Offline Method

The application form and the prospectus can be bought directly from the office of the SMIT or from the designated branches of UTI Bank. The price of the form is Rs. 400/-. An examination fee of Rs. 750/- should also be paid separately. Candidates who wish to receive their forms by post should send request letter to the Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology along with a DD of Rs. 1150/-. The form should be sent along with all the relevant documents. The candidates must remember to note the details about their marks and the course for which they have applied on the top of the envelope. The admittance of the candidates is strictly on the basis of their marks scored in the entrance examination.

Filling the application form

• The Candidates ought to read the prospectus before filling the form.
• The candidates should fill the form in English only.
• The candidates must fill the form only in capital letters.
• The candidates must use only black or blue ball pens when they fill the form.
• A recent photograph of the candidate should be pasted in the space provided.
• The candidate ought to provide their signature at the given space.
