Egra Sarada Sashi Bhusan College, Medinipur came into existence in the year 1968 and the college is affiliated to the Vidyasagar University. Initially, the college was affiliated to the Calcutta University and it got affiliation from the Vidyasagar University in the year 1985.

The college is located in the state of West Bengal in the outer fringe area in a town called Egra, which is about 35 kms away from the city called Digha, which is a popular tourist destination in the state of West Bengal.

Distance Education:

In addition to these courses, the college also acts as the distance education centre for Indira Gandhi Open University and Netaji Subhas Open University and different courses are offered by Egra Sarada Sashi Bhusan College through these study centers.

Library at the College:

Egra Sarada Sashi Bhusan College has a well-equipped library-cum-reading room. For developing this library, the college was offered with financial assistance by the University Grants Commission. The library offers several facilities like internet browsing and computer access.

Hostel at the college:

The college has one hostel for girls and one hostel for boys-cum-teachers, wherein common messing system is followed to offer food facilities to the students.

Cultural Activities:

Apart from offering quality education, the college also encourages the students to take part in different cultural activities and for this purpose different cultural competitions like mime, quiz, debate, etc… are organized at the college. The college also celebrates functions like fresher’s welcome ceremony, annual social event festival and organizes educational tours for the students.
