Abbreviated as ARIED, Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational Sciences was established on the 20th of April of the year 1954. The institute is working under the control of Government of India’s Department of Science & Technology and it is engaged in research activities pertaining to astronomy, astrophysics and atmospheric sciences. The institute is operating from the city of Nainital in the Indian state of Uttarakhand.

Pay Scale: Pay scales fixed for each of these positions are given below:

• Engineer –B – Rs.15600-39100+GP of Rs.5400

• Assistant Registrar - Rs.15600-39100+GP of Rs.5400

• Engineering Assistant – Rs.5200-20200+GP of Rs.2800

• Lower Division Clerk – Rs. 5200-20200+GP of Rs.1900

Eligibility requirements:

Age: The upper age limit to apply for the position of Engineer B is 35 years and for the position of Assistant Registrar is 40 years, while for the other two positions, the upper age limit is 30 years as on the 30th of September 2011.
