Engineering Colleges in Himachal Pradesh
When it comes to engineering education, the state of Himachal Pradesh is a laggard and this is due to the lack of employment opportunities to the engineering graduates in this state. However, nowadays many students are opting for engineering courses after their higher secondary course.
How to apply for engineering courses in Himachal Pradesh?
For getting into the engineering courses offered in the institutions in Himachal Pradesh, candidates will have to get through the Combined Pre Entrance Test and this examination is conducted by the National Institute of Technology located in Hamirpur. For applying to the CPET examination, candidates can get the application along with brochure from the National Institute of Technology located in Hamirpur. Candidates should submit the filled in application along with required fee within the last date specified by the institution. The examination is normally held during the months of May/June at the campus of Himachal Pradesh University. Candidates, who would like to apply for the management quota seats will have to apply directly to the appropriate institution to which they wish to apply.
Eligibility to apply for CPET:
For Common Pre-Entrance Test, candidates with higher secondary from the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education or equivalent board with mathematics, chemistry, physics and English subjects are eligible to apply. Minimum percentage of marks required in the qualifying examination is 60%.
Competition for engineering seats:
Since the number of seats available in the state is lesser as compared to the number of students applying, there is a heavy competition among students to get through the HPCET examination.

My daughter has cleared AIEEE 2011 with 41127 rank in gen cat and she is a bonafied Himachaly. She has done 12th from CBSE from Karnatka. I am a service person (Army).
How do my daughter get HP quota through AIEEE.Is she has to apply separately for HP quota. Pl advise.
