The career of esthetician is mainly concerned with the healthy feel and appearance of skin. They are licensed professionals who perform various skin care treatments according to the requirements of the client. They are also proficient in dealing with the beauty care of nails and hair. They usually employ special equipments for cleansing, facials, eyebrow tinting, laser treatments, and so on. They can also work in close association with dermatologist, either in his office or under referral system. In such a profile they offer beauty care for patients exposed to surgical operations, radiations, etc. Estheticians also get involved with suggesting beauty care products for clients to improve their texture and complexion.

Qualifying exam

In order to get in to the role of esthetician the candidate has to pursue graduate level courses in any of the areas of cosmetology / fashion styling / beauty care. Such courses are offered through several institutions in the country. After completion of the course, the candidate can opt for entry-level jobs in salons, resorts, fitness clubs or spas to gain experience. By gaining adequate work experience, the candidate can get in to the job profile of esthetician.

Who are eligible to apply?

The candidate has to pass 10+2 class studies in order to pursue graduate level courses where as matriculation is enough for undergoing diploma level courses. After pursuing, any of the courses mentioned above the candidate can apply for the post of esthetician in private firms or they can work as freelancers.
