Fee Structure of Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)
There are so many students all over India who opt for B. A. degree in various subjects like Languages, History, geography, home science, nutrition etc. While taking admission in a college, many questions arise in the mind of a student. One of them is definitely about the fee structure of the course. The most reputed institutions in India for pursuing a B. A. degree is
o St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai
o Presidency College, Kolkata
o Loyola College, Chennai
o St. Stephen’s College, Delhi
o Fergusson College, Pune.
The fee structure of a B. A. course depends primarily on the institution. If the institution is a government undertaking, then the amount of fees to be paid is comparatively less than the private institutions.
The fee for B.A. (Honours & general) ranges from Rs. 8,000-10,000. The admission fee is usually Rs. 1000. The fee usually encompasses library fee, tuition fee, session fee, registration fee and miscellaneous fees. For subjects like geography and home science, that involve laboratory usage, extra fees are charged.
Even though the fees for a Bachelor degree in Arts is nominal compared to other streams like B. Sc and BCA, the amount can still be a burden on needy students. That is why most institutions provide scholarships for the meritorious and needy students.
Government colleges provide 50-100% fee exemption for students under the SC, ST and OBC categories. The only thing that the students must do is early apply at their respective college offices for these facilities as it is purely done on first come first serve basis. Some colleges conduct tests to select meritorious students for partial or full scholarship.
Students can also opt for education loans if need be. However, for detailed information on the fee structure, one must contact the concerned institution.
