What the rank required to get into VIT...please tell me what is the rank required

what is the last rank that gets admission in vit?

my viteee 2012 rank is 38692,can i get addmission there????

To get admission in VIT university, the cut off rank this year is 20000. Which means that 20000 students have been called for the counselling session.

Having said that, all students do not get the branch of their choice as the cut off for each branch varies( for example for computer science the cut off rank will be around 8000 and for civil it will be around 140000).

So all those who have obtained a rank greater than 20000 may not get admission unless there is a second phase of counselling(though chances are less for that) or look to take admission under the management quota.

No. I am sorry to tell you that there is no possibility to get admission in VIT university through the merit quota.

The requirement for merit quota is to attain a rank of under 20000(minimum) so as to get admission in any of the courses offered at VIT university in Vellore and Chennai.

However, at this point in time you have a few options:

1. Take admission in VIT university through management quota( i.e through donation) if money is not a big issue for you/your family.

2. Look to secure admission in other deemed universities such as SRM,Manipal, BITS, etc. These institutes are as good or even better than VIT.

3.Take a drop for one year, study hard and reappear for VITEEE next year with full preparation to get a good rank. Consider this option ONLY if you are determined to study sincerely for another year.

Admission in VIT university is done on the basis of the candidate's score in the VITEEE(Vellore Institute of Technology-Engineering Entrance Exam).

This year the top 20000 rankers were called for the first phase of counselling which started from 13th may and went on till 19th may. Most seats for B.Tech courses were occupied by the first 16000 rankers itself, few seats in courses such as Biotechnology, Bio medical were available. The chances for a second phase of counselling are bleak in itself, and given your rank, it will be still more difficult as there will be 8,000 people above you who will be called for counselling.

The alternative for you is to look to take admission under management quota if money is not a big issue for your family.
