All the branches you have mentioned in your query are the top most branches in Engineering course. You can opt for any branch in which you are interested as all the branches you have mentioned have good scope. ECE is related to electronics, Computer Science is related to software programming, Civil is related to construction, Mechanical is related to Machinery. So, you can select the branch depending upon your interest.

You can choose any stream as per your interest, because each and every Diploma and Engineering stream can help you in getting good job and career opportunities. So, first you should decide, what u want to become and then you should choose any diploma course. And after the completion of diploma course, try to join in B.E/B.Tech course, because by completing graduation, you can improve job opportunities.

I think Computer Engineering is best trade for you as the scope of Computer Science Engineering is much more than that of any other trade in future. Our country is developing at much faster rate also computers covers all work either in government sector as well as in private sector.

Thus in future there will be more chance to get employments in this field. Also a computer science engineer can apply for getting job in foreign because there is also demand of these peoples in other countries.

According to my opinion you should go for Mechanical trade. Mechanical is the most fundamental field of engineering, all of the courses are based on purely mathematics and simple obvious logics of physics and of course it gets advanced as you go deeper into subjects. As long as men depend on machines mechanichis will be in demand. India is a developing country and the maximum growth will happen in infrastructure building at national level and here is where we need core engineering expertise. So if you like the subject, just go ahead and don't succumb to peer/parental pressure.

All the branches mentioned by you are the topmost branches of engineering. You can not directly say which one is better or which is worse. If one thinks in unbiased manner, none of the branches are inferior to each other. You need infrastructure-Civil engineers would do that. You need Industries-Mechanical is there. You need power sector-Electrical is there. You need factories and plants-Metallurgical/chemical are there.Modern technology-Electronics and Computer science is needed.
And none of the branches are complete in modern times without help from another.

If you are worried about salary and job prospects, then be clear.
After Diploma,no private company would pay you a huge sum of money or give you quick promotions whichever branch you are from. But if you get into good companies, you can atleast get good experience and after gradual completion of B.E/B.Tech after diploma, you can get good payment. It depends entirely on you and branch is not responsible for that in any way.
And if you get Govt job after diploma, then all the payscales are equal for the post of Junior engineer. So there would be no payment bias.
But in govt sector, diploma vacancies for Civil,Mechanical are much higher than the rest branches and that can help you.
Select only that branch whose related subjects you feel comfortable in.Do not go for others blind and partial advice.
