Yes, you can become a pilot after completing you diploma and degree in Mechanical Engineering, but it would be a lot of waste of time. Better to go for Commercial Pilot License after 10+2 PCM.

Re: CPL is possible for diploma and degree holder in mechanical branch?
In order to become a commercial Pilot , he can join training centre which is approved by DGCA.
Or He may join flying branch of NDA or CDS and for this he has to qualify the competitive entrance exam on an all India level. The exams are conducted by UPSC. Fir obtaining PPL Private Pilot License, one has to pass rigorous physical and written test , and after that he can easily get CPL Commercial Pilot License. For becoming eligible for CPL, he must have passed 12th with science with minimum aggregate of 50% marks. Age must be between 17-65 yrs. He has to pass class 2 medical test and an entrance test to get admission to PPL and CPL courses |
