After ITI you can join diploma 2nd year. You need to give an entrance exam for getting admission in polytechnic college. After CET your score will decide that which college will you get.

Some private polytechnic colleges have their different selection criteria if you want to join one of them then you have to visit there and ask them about their selection process. While in government colleges selection is done on the behalf of rank scored in Common Entrance Test.

Now let us discuss about your trade. As you complete your ITI course through Electrical trade then it is better to take same trade in diploma as you have some basic knowledge of this trade so you will not face any difficulty while studying subjects in diploma.
