The diploma in food and nutrition requires a pass in B. Sc. / B. Sc (Agriculture) / B. E. / B. Tech / B. Pharm. / MBBS / BHMS / BSMS / B.A (Sociology) or an equivalent examination.

There is a certification course offered by IGNOU in Nutrition and Dietetics. This requires a pass in SSLC or equivalent. The duration of the course is 6 months.
