Is there a need of special talent for getting Scholarship?

There is requirement of special talent for certain scholarships. However, for many scholarships there is no requirement of special talent. Scholarships are given on various grounds like :-

- Good performance in academics or extra curricular activities.
- Belonging to a specific caste/category.
- Having family income below a certain limit.
- Exceptional performance in talent search competition/ entrance exams.
- Conducting study/research in a specific field.
- Good service to an organization.
