i think you are confused with exam dates,theres a lot of time for ias-2011 the ias-2010 itself has not started yet and you are asking about dates related to ias-2011. any ways dates related to ias-2010 are date of notification:02.01.2010 last date of reciept of forms:01.02.2010 date of prelim exam:23.05.2010 for more details visit: www.upsc.gov.in Thanks |

The infomation related to IAS prelims 2011 is given below........
1. Date of Notification=16 Dec 2010 2. Last date for receipt of applications=15 Jan 2011 3. Date of Commencement and its duration=20 May 2011 1 Day(Sunday) 4. Minimum academic qualifications prescribed=A degree from a recognised university or equivalent 5. Age Limits=21-30 years as on 1.8.2011 |

No.It is not possible to without writing the preliminary exam.First you must clear the Preliminary Examination and those who qualifying the Preliminary Examination are called for main Examination.
And Maximum four attempts are open,Seven attempts for OBC candidates and No limit for SC/ST candidates.Your age should between 21 to 30 yrs.And The candidates should have a bachelor degree in any recognized university.So,It is not possible to without attending the Preliminary Exam.
