It would be just not good to compare top IIT's of India..I recommend that which of the both near to your place is you should go for it.
But if your score are not so good then you have better chances in IIT bombay than delhi.
From career prospectus you are to not get confused in both of them.

I got direct admission call from iit madras for m tech in transportation engineering. while iit bombay called me for one more round of interview. I am totally confused now. I want to join iit bombay but its risk. which iit should I chose? which one is better for transportation engineering, iit bombay or madras?

This is wrong thing two compare IIT colleges because all IIT's are good all have 100% placement which you know and all companies pay very high salary to IIT students...

which one you choose depends on you,

for ex.for delhites IITD would be better

or for aeronautical you have IITB,

so choose according to branch and place preference

ranking posts that I rank Engineering colleges in Indian base on student quality and preference, Faculty, Infrastructure and Industry interface or placements. I still rank engineering colleges on these criteria. For ranking new IIT’s the major factors were faculty research and educational background and also locations. I also relied on the data presented in comments and personal mail by students from IITs regarding ranking of IITs.

There is no matter of comparing India's two best institution.

Both the IIT's have their advantages and disadvantages.

Placements of both are excellent.

If you are interested in Electrical Engineering (Specially Power) then IIT Delhi is better.
But if you want to go in VLSI and Control then IIT Bombay would e a better choice.

actually u try to get in to iit rather than saying all these bullshit..as I m student of iit kar ..pls bros stop thinking and start studying to get in..

for electrical ...go iitb its simply best..see d profile of faculty of iit d ..lowest quality in iits while iit has best faculty

Look dear i want to convey you something don't go by the rumor or by infrastructure of campus or climate and soon.Always try to go by following the best faculty available and best placement available. Here is a lis of top 5 IITs where IIT bombay stands at 3rd which is not a matter of joke and IIT delhi stands at 5th, so you can make the difference yourself:

1.Indian Institute of Technology IIT Kanpur
2.Indian Institute of Technology IIT Kharagpur
3.Indian Institute of Technology IIT Bombay
4.Indian Institute of Technology IIT Madras
5.Indian Institute of Technology IIT Delhi

According to me what news if have got is IIT bombay is a good one to opt for as because it has got a good faculty and placement too in comparison to IIT delhi though delhi has got a good campus but all over IIT bombay is ahead of IIT delhi.So, i think better opt for IIT bombay rather than IIT delhi, if you get a chance or option.

I had secured AIR 7497 general catagory in IIT JEE 2012. I was getting M.tech dual in electrical at IIT roorkee. I was unhappy with the branch and opted for bits pilani Mechanical instead. Was it a good dicision?
