The newly constituted Board of Governors of the Medical Council of India (MCI) has proposed a common entrance test for undergraduate and postgraduate medical courses in the country.

Does anyone have any new information about this as a lot of us are already in mid-session?

this is true news that government of India is deciding do so.but for this year there is not any official announcement is made for this exam,so i think it will be implemented from the next session.if there any information will come will provides you.

Yes, the Ministry of Human Resource Development has announced for a common entrance test which will combine the pre-medical test and engineering tests.

The announcement has not been implemented so far,it will be so from the next session i.e. 2011.

There are ongoing discussions on this new step in higher education.

We will try to give you the new updated news about this announcement further in your next queries.

It is final now. But AIIMS/MANIPAL/DELHI MBBS Colleges such as Moulana Azad etc. still deciding on the move.

there will not b one common entrance in 2011 becoz many student are preparing for thier state entrances according to thier syllabus n type of difficulty level...i think its to b conduct it in 2012 becoz student should know about it atleast one year ago its late now.....becoz many student start preparing these from may

^no there will be one. The bill was passed a few days ago. Still very unclear!

Tamil nadu opposing for common medical test has no reason . They are not going to forfiet any of their seats . Why they should oppose which makes all medical aspirants life easier ?

what you have heard is absolutely true and talks are going on regarding the change in pattern of common entrance test.all the medical exams may be replaced by a single test.but the decision is yet not taken.so i will suggest you to keep your preparations and whenever there is any change you will definately come to know.

as we are prepraring for state level courses [mht-cet] and mci announced that only one all single entrance is conducted from 2011 onwards which is base on cbse pattern is it injustice for 2-3lakh maharasthra student

I think a notification regarding CMET should have been passed till now . CMET will be a boon to all the medical aspirants as the number of seats will be more than 30000 and all the participating private colleges will have to regulate the fee structure as per the goverment norms . I sincerely wish that the SC takes a decision in favour of mci and CET is finalised as it can lead to the beginning of a new era in medical education .

i dont think this year 2011 they will conduct common exam as CBSE has started online form subbmission for AIPMT exam as it used to be earlier ,so next yer 2012 will see a common entrance exam.

already winter AIIMS date declared....so can be assumed that no CET for PG entrance on 2012.

Now there is no doubt that MCI will conduct NEET-UG in 2012 and syllabus will be NCERT(revised). pls follow mci website to ensure.no way to postpone 2013.

Hi guys I am a student of gujarat board.And hav completed my 12th by pcb in 2011. I hav also heard abt common entrance test. I hav downloaded the vision 2015 from mci's website. Here's d link

They call this test NEET (National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test). Its a pdf file and from pg no. 41 information has been given about this exam. In pg no 46 in the last line they have written "The examinations will be conducted commencing from 2012 onwards."

And on pg no 47 the hav written that the exams will b conducted in May 2012. Plz download that pdf file : Vision 2015 And read Pg 41- 47. It looks like the exam is final now.

Aftr reading that I am feeling that the exam is final now as that booklet is from MCI. But untill I get the application form for that exam I can't b sure. 'coz this is India.

Plz keep posting any info u get about it coz its something serious, damn serious.

I listen that in syallbus of cet conducted by mic is same as before last year syllabus only zoology syllabus is change or that's are shoking because scoring part are not mention in new syllabus that is human physiology(digestive,respiratory,excretory .....system)
so it is not good because in MBBS we all know we study mainly human physiology so
I think that is it mention in syllabus

yeah dat is true dat govt. is conductin an common entrance exam BUT widout human physiology literally becomes meaningless ..........it will be like teaching a 3 year old an essay widout teachin A, B, C,.....
i'd like to suggest dat they should include human physiology and delete plant physiology..because its not as important as human ..as it will form a base ......i hope that u'll pay a notice to my request thankin you

Is it final that NEET-UG Is Going to Happen From May 2012?

I strongly support the move to conduct cet . . . . . Oly then our education will improve a bit . . . . . . Tamil nadu must agree for it. . . . . Already most schools in tn are cheating by leaking the qp , holding no practicals . . . . . Just bribing the examiners . . . . .oly cet will stop these nonsense . . . . . .

cet must be implemented.... it will reduce xam stress... n we can focus more....

It appears the neet ug will be conducted for sure in 2012. Human physiology must have been removed because may be some boards may not be having it in their syllabus. I think it will be omitted for this year only to male it easy for the students who havent studied it . However, chapters like taxonomy should have be removed as they have no much use as human physioogy in
mbbs course . In botany chapters like photosynthesis and respiration have also been removed.
But when will the final syllabus and the pattern of neet ug will be declared ?
