Hey don't confuse your self i provide you details regarding ias examination .

IAS stands for { Indian Administrative Officer } . The IAS examination was conducted by UPSC { Union Public Service of Commission } of india for once in every year .

Education qualification for ias examination :

if your interested in ias examination , then you should be qualified in bachelor degree in any stream { ie : science or arts or commerce } from recognized university .

Note : percentage of marks is not necessary for ias examination . if your qualified in bachelor degree then your eligible for the ias examination .

Age Limit for IAS Examination :

your age should be 21 to 30 years and the relaxation is given for sc/st candidates for 5 years , obc and backward candidates for 3 years and handicapped and physically challenged candidates for 10 years ,

Number of Attempts :

every general candidates are eligible to write the attempt for 4 times . and obc candidates for 7 times and there is no limit for sc/st candidates then write any number of time till the age of 35 years .

If you want ias officer then you should face three levels namely ,

>>Preliminary examination

>>Main examination

>>Interview

Option Subjects for IAS Examination :

>>Agriculture

>>Animal husbandry

>>Botany

>>Zoology

>>Sociology

>>Statistics

>>Political science

>>Physics

>>Philosophy

>>Psychology

>>Public administration

>>Mechanical engineering

>>Mathematics

>>Medical science

>>Indian history

>>Law

>>Economics

>>Electrical engineering

>>Geology

>>Geography

>>Civil engineering

>>Commerce

>>Chemistry

>>Veterinary science

You can choose any one of the subject as you like . But you asked which subject suitable for you ? as per my opinion you choose commerce subject , because your belonging from bba course , then commerce subject very easy to clear in the examination .

I hope that you understand my points . if your having any doubt please ask frankly in education and career forum , we try to answer your questions .

Hi friend,

the basic requirement for becoming ips/ias is completing graduation in any discipline.

As you have completed engineering in mechanical engineering , you are eligible for ias and ips.

The following requirements are also fullfilled by the candidate.

His/her age should be between 21-30 for general category candidates

and it should be between 21-33 for obc category candidates

and it should be 21-33 for sc/st category candidates.

Relaxation of 3 years and 5 years age limit is given to obc and sc/st candidates respectively

all the best...

IAS stands for Indian Administrative Service. It is one of the top civil service in India.

In order to be placed in IAS or any other civil service, you should crack the below mentioned selection procedure

CSAT (Civil Services Aptitude Test)
Civil Services Main Exam
Interview

As per the eligibility criteria,

The candidate should have completed Graduation with any of the stream from a recognized university.

Candidates who are pursuing final year of Graduation can also apply for this Exam but they should be able to show the proof of passing in Graduation when they appear for Interview.

Candidates of General category should possess an age between 21-30 years
Relaxation in upper age limit upto 3 years for the candidates of OBC category.
Relaxation in upper age limit upto 5 years for the candidates of SC or ST category.

You have to select the Optional subject for Civil Services Main Exam.

As you are a candidate pursuing Electrical Engineering, I suggest you to opt for this subject as the optional subject for civil services exam.

Due to which the subject knowledge that you gained in your B.Tech course will be useful.

Wish you all the best.
