Sir,i have got 66 marks in aieee2012 which college i could get plz rply

MY RANK IS 20442 IN GEN AND 3731 IN OBC IN WHICH NIT I CAN TAKE ADM.

category - gen
state- delhi
rank- 30,300
state rank- 2,700
course to pursue- CS or ECE
preferable state for college- Delhi

in ipu cet
rank- 1865

in 12th board- 96%

please suggest me the best option for me. Should i even pursue btech? or should i take admission in DU?

P.S. Hostel facility is also needed.

if you are general candidate the safest margin will be above 180 for selection in nits!
while for reserve candidate like st/sc/pd the safest margin will be above 100!

Generaaly if you want to get a seat in good NITs like NIT, warangal or NIT, trichy you have to secure at least an all india overall rank of 2000. For other NITs like NIT durgapur, NIT jamshedpur, securing at least an all india overall rank of 15000 is enough. You will still get a seat in NIT if you get a rank of 30000 but you will not neither get good NITs nor will you get good streams like mechanical enginnering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, electronics and communication engineering, computer science and engineering, chemical engineering.

Dear friend,

For getting admission in NITs (National Institute of Technology), a candidate must appear for AIEEE exam that is conducted by CBSE every year in the month of April.

For getting admission in NITs, AIR of a candidate must be below 20,000
Then, only he/she can get admission in one of the NITs. There are about 30 NITs all over India.

However, from next year (i.e. 2013) AIEEE will be changed to IIT-Mains Exam.
In this exam, 40% weightage will be given to 10+2 marks.
Notifications about this exam will release in September or October.

criterias are different for evry college.. u need to mention ur caste, ur stream.. i cn better suggest u ... like for nit trichy to get any stream u shud hav rank upto 7000... if u hav above da u hav a chance in nit trichy as well as warangal.... warangal will give u admission upto 11000...

if you have ranks upto 20000 you can get any good nit
for nit jalandhar you can even have ranks below 20000..

Rank for NIT Warangal, NIT Trichy is 1 to 2000(general rank).because these are top college in compare to other NIT college.

for get admission in nit , you have to get minimum rank is between 1-10000 , in NIT Trichy 2507 seat are allowed to be there you can get in NIT Trichy but warangal and surat kal they will take All India Rank..............

This time, the pattern of paper of IIT and NIT is totally changed.

Thus nothing much can be said.

You need to prepare hard. But on the previous basis, one can surely said that inoerder to get a seat in IIT, you need to score good in all the three subjects namely Physics, Chemistry and Maths.

You need to score atleast 200+ for the IIT.

For NIT, competition is much more as the number of tudents appearing in AIEEE is much much more as compared to the no. of students appearing in IIT JEE.

Every year the cutoff marks chanit. Depending upon last year, I Think you need to secure 180+ to secure a seat in NIT.


Yu need to score a rank Below 23000 To get a good NIT.

If you want to know the Required AIEEE Ranks for NIT then I will give you the approximate details about it.

The cut off details are depend on the category of the candidates. As you asked for General, so I am giving you General cut off list.

>>NIT Warangal : About 6000

>>NIT Trichy : About 6000

>>NIT Suratkal : About 8,000

>>NIT Surat : About 8,500

>>NIT Patna : About 10,000

Also, There is State Level Opening but you hadn't told me Your State.So I can't help you in this.
I advice you to try in your State's NIT.
