You can achieve a good rank IIT-JEE is based on hard labour to reach goal. you should maintain some regularities such as : 1:maintain a time table for study. 2:brush up your previous studies. 3:solve the previous year questions 4:attempt your easy subject first. Best of luck. |

Re: How to get good rank in IIT JEE?
Hi,
You just need to plan your work now very carefully. You should stress more on time division to important subjects i.e PCM. you must get through the fundamental and basics. you should also join a crash course or at least test series from a reputed institute like brilliant or FIIT-JEE. |

Re: How to get good rank in IIT JEE?
hi friend
For you best thing is that at the time of your 12th itself you aim for that and prepare for that also, so that it will be very for 12th exam and there won't be more pressure on the IIT, after your 12th exam finished join any good center for 2 month gap, there you should the good ideas about the short cuts to solve the problem and ideas, this will give you 70% confident, then there is 30% more for that you should do Revision on what ever you study, then do any Mock Test that will help you very much for your Revision and Before one week of exam, try to teach your friends and share your ideas so you won't forget, if you work for 100% only , you can get more the 70% of mark, so aim for 200% get, the 90% Result Best of luck, God bless you |

Re: How to get good rank in IIT JEE?
hello Naveen
as you know iit jee is the top exam in the country getting into it is not a small task your life will be settled if you can really concentrate and do hard work without any other attractions then there is an action plan for your question i.e. first of all keep in your mind that your going to win this exam before following this time table you should keep in mind that your IPE marks are not important for your achievement so mentally fix IPE as a small thing and you should concentrate only on the IIT JEE syllabus okay first of all if your fresh to the syllabus make each subject each day in a week for 6 days continously that means the 7th day of your week will be the exam of all your study throughout the week okay first select the best subject and differentiate according to the priority and make the whole syllabus into equal pieces and bunk the college with the help of your parents and make your seperate and wholly concentrate on your syllabus pieces and for last day of week keep test with the help of your parents and after the whole doubts should be clarified by the concerned faculty by the evening for doubts you can arrange private instructor or a well known senior also by continuing like this for two months till your exams you can definitely achieve your desired position in iit jee i hope this will help you if you're really serious about it all the best best regards ~aditya~ |

Re: How to get good rank in IIT JEE?
hi!
There is no definite way of preparing for the IIT-JEE. You need to make a sound strategy for clearing the JEE. First of all plan your schedule & then familiarise yourself with the JEE pattern. You must be thorough with your understanding of concepts. For this purpose it is better to confine yourself to a limited number of good books and other study material & avoid consulting too many books. Try to solve model papers with utmost accuracy. Also appear for mock tests & continually try to improve your percentile by diagnosing your weak areas & working on it. |

Re: How to get good rank in IIT JEE?
Over a year gone since this thread was started... but IITJEE continues to rule the minds of students! I am prompted to comment - why equate excellence only with IIT? There are so many healthcare institutions in India, with so qualified faculty members, and so much work in research, and internationally placed passouts, and so much of determination to succeed - I don't think the IITs stand anything before medical colleges like AIIMS, JIPMER or BHU, or even PMCH (Patna Medical College, don't believe it? click here) The number of medical aspirants is declining and IIT aspirants rising, while the examinee-seat ratio is the same. The only thing they say is that there exists a label - "IIT". There is a label "AIIMS", There is a label "AFMC", labels exist for every medical college - each one of them is different, a world of its own, each has a different infrastructure, faculty, teaching environment, learning procedure. So the only thing here is, dear friends, RETHINK! Only IITing is not everything. You ought to regard Medical Colleges as well.

Re: How to get good rank in IIT JEE?
dear,
you have very few months left for your full preparation. apart from hard work and dedication you need smartness.smartness pays a lot in JEE. You should find the topics in course you are most comfortable with. look in the previous years papers and topic wise weight will help to devide topics. this time i think you should not join coaching institute. If you are comfortable with self study just go with it.. best of luck |

Re: How to get good rank in IIT JEE?
Quote:
questions in IIT-JEE. Practice the previous years question papers of it on your own and then you will get to know your exact status. It is seriously bit late, If you think that your maths is week. It is recommended that in last two months before JEE one shouldn't start a new chapter. One should only revise all the basics and practice problems. So, you should revise all those course that you have covered in past. Focus on the previous years questions of Calculus, Co-ordinate and Algebra for getting into the depth of IIT-JEE. You are not required to fight with lengthy problems. Just do those questions which are conceptual and based on basic knowledge. Refer Arihant's 25 years IIT-JEE question bank with solution. @nishant I think there is no one posting disliking posts about Medical Colleges. Your post seem to be quite inexperienced and discouraging for IIT aspirants. Introducing terms like different infrastructure, faculty, teaching environment, learning procedure doesn't show that it has everything in abundance. As far as the label of IIT-JEE is concerned it is always followed by "as far as engineering in India is concerned". If a candidate is interested to make his/her career in engineering field then he/she is suggested to appear IIT-JEE. If a candidate find his/her interest in Medical field he/she appears examinations like AIIMS, AIPMT, AFMC etc. As the number of Doctors is a few percentage of engineers So, demand of doctors is more but in parallel to that competition is very high in entrance exams. The fee for private medical colleges is so high that every middle class family can't bear those fees. Why the label of IIT? Not only Indians but foreigners too praise it so much. According to BBC; Put Harvard, Princeton and MIT together and then you will begin to have idea about the 7 campuses of IITs. The curriculum of IITs is expected to be most rigorous in the world. Only 2% of the applicants qualify IIT whereas in US, Harvard takes about 10% of applicants who apply for it. If this is the level of it then it worths a STATUS. IITians are playing leading role in all major companies worldwide and shining its status everyday. Some examples for why the label exists? are Rajat Gupta, Senior Partner Worldwide of McKinsey & Company; IITD Arun Sarin, CEO, Vodafone Plc; IITKGP Victor Menezes, ex-Senior Vice Chairman, Citigroup; IITB Arjun Malhotra, CEO, Headstrong ; IITKGP Kanwal Rekhi, CEO Ensim, Founder TIE; IITB Narayan Murthy, Founder and Chairman, Infosys Technologies; IITK Vinod Khosla, General Partner, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers; CEO of Sun Microsystem; IITD Mohan Sawhney, McCormick Tribune Professor of Technology and Director, Center for Research in Technology & Innovation, Kellogg School of Management; IITD Gursharan S. Sidhu, Founder I2 technologies ; IITM Manoj Singh, CEO of the Asia/Pacific, Deloitte Consulting ; IITK Gururaj "Desh" Deshpande, Founder and Chairman, Sycamore Networks, Inc. ; IITM Dr. Suhas Patil, Chairman Emeritus, Cirrus Logic; IITKGP Pradeep Sindhu, Vice Chairman, CTO & Founder, Juniper Networks; IITK Avi Nash, Advisory Director, Goldman Sachs; IITB Umang Gupta, CEO, Keynote Systems ; IITK Raghuram Rajan, Economic Counselor & Director Research, IMF; IITD Shailesh Mehta, Former CEO, Providian Financials ; IITB Vinita Gupta, Founder & Chairman, Quick Eagle Networks; IITR Dr. Naren Gupta, CEO, Quick Eagle Networks ; IITD Prabhu Goel, Chairman, Ipolicy Networks; IITK Rahul Dhir, CEO, CAIRN ENERGY INDIA. There are many more. Overall it can be said that there would hardly be a Fortune 500 company which does/did not have an IIT graduate in its senior management. The best institution in India (not only India but entire South Asia) for Mining, Petroleum and Earth Sciences studies is ISM Dhanbad which is also an IITJEE college. If you talk about mining-petroleum industry you will always find an ISMite at top. This message contains only discussion on grounds of facts and is free from ego. It is posted only to let people know Why IITs are in dream of every 12th (PCM) passed students. It is a matter of one's interest only that he/she chooses Engineering or Medical stream. |

Re: How to get good rank in IIT JEE?
i think it is not possible to secure good rank in IIT JEE after studying only two months.
but you have to try your best. now you should study according to the syllabus of IIT JEE and whatever you already read you should revise them. you must go through the previous years IIT JEE question paper to make an idea about the question paper. you should buy a good book from market and solve it before appearing in the examination. i know you have already appeared in the IIT JEE 2010. but my post for the student those are appearing in IIT JEE 2011 and have only few months to prepare. best wishes. |
