you have to prepare for IIT JEE exam for getting admission in the best institute for aerospace engineering - IIT Bombay, IIT MADRAS,IIT KANPUR and IIT KHARAGPUR. You have to get a good rank in the IIT JEE exam. IIT JEE exam is conducted years once and minimum qualification is 12th std. MADRAS INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY,CHENNAI(ANNA UNIVERSITY)-anna university is conducting through TNPCEE exam.

there are few institutes in india for space engineering in india like IITs.
IITB has satellite engineering course is also conducted .
For space engineering concentrate on the iit entrance exam you will get information about iit entrance exam that portion is helpful for preparation for the space engineering

here is no subject taught named space engineering,it is aerospace engineering or aeronautical engineering.IITs and IIST offer this course.Some state engineering colleges offer,but you need to appear AIEEE for getting admission.

You may get Aerospace Engineering in IIT Bombay
upto AIR 1200 in B.Tech. programs.

However, if you choose B.Tech.+M.Tech. dual degree you get Aerospace
Engineering upto AIR 2000.

Aeronautical engineering is a very complex part of engineering, with a perfect blend of mechanical, electrical, computer and electronics engineering. Which requires talented and well scientific person.Therefore,entrance are necessary for admitting candidates to this branch of engineering.

For best career prospect, in this field you have persue that course from a good institute in India. Below I have given a list of some best institutes along with there entrance for admission.

IIT’s: it is best for perusing aeronautical engineering at bachelor level. All iit's have faculty for it. Admission is based on rank scored in IIT-JEE an entrance conduct by iit's in order to admit students to its bachelor degrees.

IISC, banglore: but it offer only M.Tech or MS program for aeronautical engineering, it does not have faculty for bachelor degrees.

I would recommend you to do Aerospace Engineering from the following college as the JEE exam has already been conducted & there is no chance to get into an IIT without clearing the entrance exam .Even if you would have given the exam , the probability of getting a higher rank is less .

this institute conducts a entrance examination also known as ISAT .
education qualification for this exam is-

1.you must have to score at least 70% in 10th.
2.you must have to score at least 60% in 12th with PCM group.
3.the age limit for this exam is a candidate must not excced the age of 27 years.

there are only online mod of apply, so you can visit-

this exam as usually conducts in 3rd week of april.
The entrance test shall be conducted on 21st April 2012 for admission to the
session starting in Mid of 2012.
