MBA is post graduate level course. Before you can apply for it, there is a need to do graduation course. For graduation course you have plenty of options. For example you can go for any graduation course like B.com, B.Sc, B.Tech and choose MBA after competing these courses. Else you can also go for BBA which stands for Bachelor of Business Administration.

Eligibility for BBA

Your age should be between 17 to 22 years.

You must pass 10+2 with English as a subject from a recognised board.

Your score in 12th board should be at least 40 percent. However this requirement varies from colleges to colleges.

There are several entrance exams conducted by universities in India for BBA admission.

Only after completing BBA or any other Bachelors course you can think about going for the MBA course.

Eligibility for MBA

You need to complete at least 3 years long graduation course from a recognised university.

After completing the graduation course you will have to appear in entrance exams for MBA like CAT and MAT.

To appear for CAT you need to score at least 50 percent marks in graduation course. Reserve category candidates are required to score 45 percent. Common Admission Test is for MBA admission in top universities of India including the prestegious IIMs.

Those who fail to meet the requirement of CAT may appear for Management Aptitude Test (MAT). There are plenty of colleges that accept MAT score. There is no percentage criteria for candidates who wish to appear for MAT exam. Therefore even with 40 percent marks you are eligible for MAT exam.

Once you have cleared any of the entrance exams for MBA. You will get admission depending on the performance in the exam.

MBA Exam Details:

With so many sectors opening up daily the demand of MBA freshers is also reaching sky high. On pursuing this course lots of door will open up for you. In the investment, banking, management and IT sectors opportunities are galore.

To meet the growing demands of students lots of B-schools are growing up at every nook and corner of a city. But leaving a handful of them not many are reliable and its always an uphill task to find out how is the standard of a particular B-school is or how is its placement record. So do not fall in the trap and be very choosy about the college to ensure minimal problem in the future.

To apply for this exam you need to complete your bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized Indian university or AICTE affiliated institution. Thus students from any academic background can opt for this course. Even final year students are eligible to give this exam.

List of MBA Specializations:

Finance

There are a list of popular MBA entrance examination that can be given to pursue this course and most of these exams are tickets to the top notch colleges in India.

The most popular one is the CAT or the Common Admission Test. To give this exam you need to complete your bachelor's degree with minimum 50 percent of marks. (45% in case of reserved categories). Even final year students are also eligible.

Questions generally comes from the following sections: Quantitative Ability, Data Interpretation, Reading Comprehension and Verbal Ability.

Next in line is the MAT exam for those who fails to secure the above mentioned percentage at graduation level. For the MAT exam you just need to collect the pass marks since no such minimum percentage marks is there to attain. There is no age criteria as such too. You can give this exam as many times you want.

Another important and equally popular exam is XAT which is conducted by the XLRI, School of Business & Human Resource. To apply for this exam much like the other exam its demand is a bachelor's degree in any discipline. But along with that you also need to have 5 years experience of working as a full time employee.

hello

MBA--Masters of Business Administration
MBA which is a specialisation in Business Administration is a course which can be pursued at any stage of life for an individual. But the thing mattering the most is that the candidate should be eligible to apply for such an exam.

After which std we can start the course of MBA ?
Generally people have a perception that MBA is a masters course and it can be done only after graduation in any discipline.Although this is right But MBA can also be done after XII class examinations.

MBA after XII
It is a program for the undergraduates seeking admission .This is a course having duration of 5 years.hence it is BBA+MBA course.one can give Entrance exam for the universities conducting MAT entrance test and the basic Eligibility for a candidate after XII class examinations is that the candidate should be passed in XII class examinations from a recognized school of a recognized state or central board.

The percentage required to appear for this exam is 50% for general category candidates while for SC/ST it is 45% .

note-
The percentage may change and it depends on the Institutes participating or institute conducting the examination.

MBA after Graduation
well, this is MBA which is a post graduation course and for this exam the minimum eligibility is graduation from a recognized university from any discipline.

for this one needs to give Entrance exam so that one can get admission in the top management Institutes in India. There are many Entrance exams like::
#common Admission test(CAT)
for CAT entrance test the minimum Eligibility required is 50% for general and 45% for reserved categories(SC/ST).Also there is no restrictions regrading times of attempt and there is no maximum age limit.

#Management aptitude test(MAT)
for MAT entrance test the minimum Eligibility required is pass from a recognized university. But good percentage becomes handy while selecting candidates. Also there is no restrictions regrading times of attempt and there is no maximum age limit.

Apart from these major Entrance tests some other popular entrance test are as under::
X.A.T.
S.N.A.P.
F.M.S.
G.M.A.T.
C.E.T.
A.T.M.A

there are many specialisations related to the MBA field.I have mentioned most of them below since it is required in the MBA.
MBA specialisations
Finance
Marketing
Operations
Sales and Marketing
Project Finance .
Security analysis
Portfolio management.
Investment Banking.
Venture capital & Private equity.
Fixed income securities.
Real estate development.
Applied investment
Human Resource
Entrepreneurship
Sales and Marketing
International business
Retail management

Now coming to your second query -->> if t is possible for general mathematics students to take MBA ?
yes!! why not?
since the minimum eligibility criteria for MBA (after graduation level) is graduation from any discipline, hence you can do MBA.Also at the entrance test level the mathematics is not too difficult so for entrance prepare well.

The best colleges in MUMBAI for MBA are as under--

SP Jain Institute of Management & Research

NMIMS University

Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (JBIMS)

Shailesh J Mehta School Of Management, IIT Mumbai(SJSOM)

Welingkar Institute of Management (We School)

hope this helped

with regards
