I would like to know about the age limit of OBC candidates for attending the JRF Net 2016 exam under UGC as per the latest rules and regulations.

UGC NET is University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test. This test is conducted for following:

Junior Research Fellowship.

The upper age limit for JRF is 28 years for open category candidates and it is relaxed by five years for OBC non creamy layer candidates and SC/ST candidates. So, for OBC non creamy layer candidates it is 33 years.

Lectureship.

There is no upper age limit for Lectureship post.

UGC University Grants Commission will be conducting the JRF NET examination every year and there are some eligibility criteria which will be available in order to appear for the NET examination and as you are of the OBC candidates there are some other benefits also which are available for the OBC categories and the maximum age limit for the OBC Category NET examination is of 33 years is the maximum upper age limit.

JRF is the Junior Research Fellowship program which will be conducting every year and there are some other specific eligibility criteria also which is available such as the

1. Maximum age limit of for the UGC JRF NET examination is of 28 years and the upper age limits are applicable as per the government specifications such as the for OBC|SC|ST|PH|Womens the maximum upper age limit is of 33 years
2. Educational qualifications of graduates who possess M.Sc or equivalent degree |Integrated BS |MS|and also candidates who are of B.E|B.Tech |B.Pharma|MBBS courses with at least 55% of the aggregate can appear for the UGC JRF NET examination.
3. Candidates who are awaiting for the results of the M.Sc or equivalent degree can appear for the JRF examination

These are the eligibility criteria which are available to appear for the UGC JRF NET examination.And you need to satisfy these eligibility in order to appear for the JRF examination.

NET is the National Eligibility Test conducted by UGC to award JRF & Lecturership.Age Limit for OBC is 33 years.

Eligibility
- You must have passed Master's course from a recognized university with atleast 55%.Ph.D candidates are eligible for relaxation of 5%.
- Candidates who have cleared SET or JRF NET are eligible for exemption from Lecturership NET.
- Age limit is 28 years.

Exam Pattern
Exam comprises into 3 papers

Paper I
- Total 60 questions out of 50 to be attended
- Time Duration : 75 Minutes
- Questions will be asked from Reasoning Ability , Divergent Thinking , General Awareness , Comprehension

Paper II
- Total 50 compulsory subjects
- Total 100 Marks
- Time Duration : 75 Minutes
- Questions will be asked from selected subject by candidate.

Paper III
- Total 75 compulsory subjects
- Total 150 Marks
- Time Duration : 150 Minutes

UGC NET Exam is conducted for the post of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Lectureship.

Exam is generally conducted in June and December.

ELIGIBILITY FOR NET EXAM

Academic Qualification:

• You must have secured 55% marks (without rounding off) in Master's Degree or equivalent qualification from University/Institutions recognized by UGC.
• 5% relaxation in marks is given to SC/ST/PWD applicants.

Age Limitation:
For Lectureship: No Age Limit

For JRF: 19-28 years
5 years relaxation in age is provided to OBC/SC/ST/WOMEN Candidates.

Age limit for Junior Research Fellowship

Gen candidate should be 28 years and there is 5 years age relaxation for OBC/SC/ST caste.

UGC conducts National Eligibility Test for Lectureship and Junior Research Fellowship twice every year. Eligibility criteria for both:

>>Master's degree in any stream from a UGC recognized university. General candidates must have 55% marks in master's degree to apply for exam. Reserved category candidates have 5% marks relaxation.

>>There is no upper age limit for Lectureship.

Age limit for OBC candidate for JRF is 33 years. For general candidates it is 28 years. Only candidates of non creamy layer of OBC get five years age relaxation. If you belong to creamy layer, you will not get this age relaxation.

Yes, there is relaxation in age limit to appear for JRF examination conducted by UGC twice year as NET for OBC candidates.

The age limit to appear for examination is 19-28 years with relaxation in age of 5 years for OBC and SC/ST. To appear for examination candidates must have master's degree from any recognised university with at least 55% marks.

NET means National Eligibility Test. Every year lacs of candidates give this exam for becoming lecturer in Indian government colleges or joining Junior Research Fellowship. Those who want to appear for this exam must have completed master's degree or in final year of this course.

Age criteria for Junior Research Fellowship is 28 years for candidates of general category. But for OBC candidates of non creamy layer as per latest rules and regulation age limit is 33 years. OBC creamy layer candidates are treated as general category candidates.

NET examination is conducted by UGC. NET stands for National Eligibility Test and examination is conducted twice every year.

The examination is conducted in month of June and December and the eligibility to appear for examination is candidate must have passed master degree from any recognised university with minimum 55% aggregate.

The age limit is 19-28 years for open category and relaxation for reserved category candidates of maximum 5 years only in case of JRF.
