There are a lot of alternatives .....
1-IP university (delhi)
2-MH-CET ( highly recommended)
3-AIEEE
4-UP Seat

After applying all these form if still you failure ...then dont worry

Apply state counselling form by AIEEE
1-MP
2-MHCET

you have to apply these 2 forms at any cost because by aieee ( if your rank< 1 lac)you can get a good college in these states you can ask about the good colleges later i will describe you everything first study !! ok dude

Even if you wont able to get into IIT, but have listed in Extended Merit List (EML) of IITJEE. You can expect integrated B.sc + M.sc at IIT's itself.

Suppose if not listed in EML, but have quite good marks in IITJEE say- 100. Then also you can expect some good but private engineering college through managment as well as general quota.

Suppose nothing in IITJEE, then also need not to worry, because number entrance exams are there which fetch you some of best institutes of India apart from IIT's.

AIEEE: Conducted by CBSE for providing admission into 17 NIT's (National Institute of Technology), IIIT's (Indian Institute of Information Technology), and other National and State level reputed institutes.

If you haven't appeared for it this year, then you had missed the golden oppurtunity because compared to IITJEE in AIEEE its easy to find admission and also easy to rank good. Checkout the details for AIEEE 2011 @ http://aieee.nic.in/

VITEEE: VIT University Vellore,Tamil Nadu has affirmed the date of the VIT Engineering Entrance Examination popularly known as VITEEE. It is conducted for admission into the B.Tech courses offered by its affiliated institute/college and VIT itself.

Checkout detalis @ http://www.vit.ac.in/admissions.asp

KIITEE: Application for 2011 is open till 28.02.2011

Definitely IIT-JEE is india's one of the most toughest and reputated exam, but it does not means that only iitian are successfull person. There are so many persons who are not iitian, completed their B.TECH or M.TECH from non-iit colleges and now more famous than iitians. for example there is no iitian in the list of india's top 10 rich man.

Other than IIT You can do your study from NIT (NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY- 20 old NIT and 10 MORE Started from these year), VIT (VELLORE INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY, TAMILNADU), IIIT (INDIAN INSTITUTE OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY- IN ALLAHABAD, HYDERABAD).

If you are not selected in IIT's for engineering you can have many options to join in many private institutions but deemed universities like VIT in VELLORE, SRM college, and many top universities in South India,....
Also don't constrain yourself to IIT of you have doubt.....you can try AIEEE which has very big demand these days
