Simply PSI stands for Police Sub Inspector Examination. This examination is conducted by various states. The eligibility criteria differs from states to states, but these are some general criteria to apply for PSI exams.


>> Graduation or its equivalent qualification from a recognized university.
>> Knowledge of Local Language.

This examination is conducted when there is requirement of constable in Police Department, The exam is not conducted every year.

All males and Females are eligible for PSI examinations.

Now come to the physical Standard criteria of PSI exams and here is the criteria:

For Male:
Height: - 165 cms (minimum)
Chest:-
Unexpanded: - 79 cms
Expanded: - 84 cms

For Female:
Height: - 157 cms (minimum)

Examination Pattern of PSI Exam:

Well, you have not mentioned the state you belong to. Because the exam pattern are vary from states to states. here I am informing you the general pattern followed in PSI exams.

The exams consists of the following 4 parts i.e.

1. Preliminary examination Based on Objective test.
2. Main examination
3. Physical Test
4. Interview.

Note: Those who clears the preliminary exam will be selected to appear for main exam.

General Syllabus for PSI Examination:

~~Civics
~~History of Maharashtra
~~Geography
~~Economics
~~Science
~~Logical & Numerical Reasoning Preliminary Exam

Those who qualify merit test score of Mains exam will be allowed to appear for the physical test.

PSI stands for the Police Sub Inspector. Exam for the PSI post is conducted by the state government.

Educational Criteria:

At least Bachelor degree in any discipline from the recognized university is necessary. Final year candidates are not applicable because, one has to provide their final result (Percentages) at the time of application.

So, first of all complete your B.com and then you become eligible for it.

Age Criteria:

• Minimum age should be at least 20 years.
• And maximum age should not exists 25 years.
• Age relaxation for reserved category as per government rules.

Physical Criteria:

~~ In the first round candidates have to run 800 meters in 3 minute and 10 sec.
~~ Candidates who qualify the first round have to run 5 Kms in 25 minutes.
~~ Some other physical requirement such as chest expansion and minimum height.

However, some criteria may vary from one state to other state.
