hi i like to join in navy but my DOB: 17/07/1986 age: 24 and i went through the web site to collect information regarding it and it tells me the age limit to join navy is 16 to 19 age .. so my question to you is can i be able to join the navy at this age .

yes dude, you can join the navy but,its merchant navy or if you want to go in navy through nda so you have to be graduated and then post graduated and than you will be eligible for navy.

1)Unmarried male
2)Belong to age group of 19-23 years
3)Should of Indian
4)Should have completed his graduation from a recognized university (with Physics, Mathematics, at 10+2)

I think you are eligible for Navy at this age. So, you can apply for Navy.

Qualification for navy:

Age limit: The candidates should have been born between 31-01-1992 to 30-01-1995 (Both dates inclusive).

Educational qualification: Candidates passed in 10+2 equivalent examination with 55% or more marks in aggregate with Maths and Physics, at least on of the subjects Chemistry, Biology and Computer Science.

Selection procedure: The mode of selection is based on the performance in written test/physical fitness test/fitness in the medical examinations.

There are two chances every year for you. Generally, examination is held twice a year in the months of June and December every year.


They recruit through a entrance exam named Short Service Commission(SSC).

Eligibility Criteria :-

Nationality : Indian.

Marital Status : Unmarried.

Educational Qualifications :

i)You should pass the 12th or equivalent with Science and Mathematics with 60% or above marks in aggregate and optional as Chemistry or Biology or Computer Science.

ii)You should pass B.Sc in Physics, Mathematics or Electronics with minimum 60% marks.

iii)You should pass BE or B.Tech with minimum 65% marks in aggregate in any discipline from any institution recognized by AICTE.

The eligible candidates will be called up for Service Selection Board (SSB) based on their educational intelligence in graduation.

You are eligible to join Indian Navy in the following courses:
PC Law Cadre,PC Naval Armament Inspection Centre, PC Logistics cadre, SSC Executive General Service, SSC Law Cadre, SSC Logistics Cadre, SSC Naval Armament Inspection cadre,Short Service Commission.etc..
But to get selected in any of the courses you have to start preparing now itself.

Sorry friend you cannot join in Indian navy as you have told that you have a age of 24 you cannot do write any entrance exam with this age.The possible exams which you can write for joining in Indian navy are NDA and CDS.

But for these exams the candidates need to acquire a age limit of 16 1/2 -19 years for NDA and for CDS it is 19 - 22 years.

You can write the CDS exam for joining in Indian Military as the age needed for this is 19 - 24 years and you should have a degree from a recognized university to be eligible.

There are only a handful of opportunities for you in the Indian Navy. For becoming an officer in the Indian navy, they have to pass through NDA. For direct entry to the Navy, you need to be a graduate with high marks or someone with a NCC “c” certificate. Now for candidates of 24 years, there are opening only in Musicians cadre. Your age will not be an issue for you to apply in certain posts in Merchant Navy. It would be advisable if you check with any of the Merchant Navy firms or institutes which give merchant navy courses.

1.12th with PCM from any recognized board .
2.Age limit = 16.5 to 19 years .

So with the age of 24 it is not possible to join Indian Navy .

Even the age limit for CDS exam is 19 to 22 years,which is an another exam ,conducted by UPSC .

So , really sorry to say that I think it is not possible for you to join Indian Navy .

No, you are not eligible to join in Indian NAVY..

As your age is 24 years so, you are not eligible for NDA exam..

To appear in CDS exam you have to complete your graduation in engineering field.

You will not be eligible for CDS exam as you have crossed the upper age limit..

So, sorry to say you that you are not eligible for Indian NAVY..
