Hey friend,

NDA stands for National Defence Academy and this exam is being conducted by UPSC every year for candidates to join in Indian Army,Navy and Air force wing.

For applying for this exam the candidates must strictly be a unmarried male candidate and must be a citizen of India.

Candidates applying must have a age limit of 16 1/2-19 years and must have finished +2 from a recognized board with a fair percentage.

For candidates who want to be a part of Indian Navy and Air force should have completed +2 with physics and mathematics as subjects.

The candidates should also be physically ft while appearing for the NDA exam as it is a important standard.

If you satisfy the criteria's then you are eligible to apply for the NDA exam.

You have not mentioned your stream so i can not guide you properly.

NDA examination is conducted by UPSC for admission in Naval wing,Airforce wing and army wing of NDA.The exam is conducted twice in a year.The eligibility criteria for the examination is that a candidate must has passed 10+2 from a recognized Institution with subjects physics,chemistry and mathematics as main subject for the Naval and Air force wing of the NDA.For the army wing a candidate can be of any stream.Class 12th appearing students can also apply.The age of the candidate should be between 16.5 years to 19 years.

NIOS is a govt recognized institute.After passing class 12th examination you will be quite eligible for the NDA examination.

To apply for Army wings you need to complete your 12Th examination in any discipline form a recognised University.

So, If your age should between 16.5 to 19 years then you are eligible to apply for NDA Examination.

Am I eligible for NDA after studying higher secondary in national institute of open schooling?

Yes off course you are eligible for NDA as far as educational qualification is concerned but you should look at other parts of criteria as well.The eligibility criteria for National Defence Academy exam are as follows :

• Only Unmarried Male candidate are allowed
• Age- 16.5 to 19 years
• You must have either passed or appearing in class 12th or Intermediate examination with any recognized board or university.
• For Army Wing only Intermediate degree from any stream is required
• For Naval and Air Force ,you must have physics and Maths cumpulsory in class 12th .

The NDA exam is conducted by UPSC twice a year .The notification are published in Employement News and the official website of upsc that is www.upsc.gov.in

Eligibility for NDA

Any candidate willing to apply for NDA should fulfill these minimum criterion for appearing for NDA exam :-

1)the candidate must be a 12th pass out from any stream for Army but for Air Force or Navy..the candidate must have PCM as his subjects in 12th..
2) the candidate must be in the age limit of 16.5-19 years to be able to appear in the NDA

you should have a perfect eyesight and should be completely physically fit..

the NDA exam is held twice in a year..once in April and once in August..

you will have to first clear the written exam,then the interview and then the medical examination..
