If you want to become lecturer that too in engineering college then Master of Technology degree is necessary. As per my knowledge Sai Nath University is approved by University Grants Commission which means you can go ahead and pursue M.Tech from it.
After completing M.Tech you can easily find lecturer job in Engineering college. It is even possible after B.Tech. Some Engineering colleges even accept Bachelor of Technology graduates for lecturer job. However mostly they are not permanent and replaced as soon as college can lay hand on M.Tech graduate. After M.Tech it would be easy to find lecturer job. Generally M.Tech is done by the people to become college lecturer. So you don't really have to give much importance to what your friend is saying. There are two options for you after M.Tech. You can either apply in government college or the private college. If interested in government college then you will have to clear the National Eligibility Test. Since you want job only in Tamil Nadu, its better clear Tamil Nadu State Eligibility Test. There is no difference in two exams. NET is conducted for central government colleges while SET is conducted by each state separately. The odds of getting lecturer job in Tamil Nadu are higher with SET in comparison to NET. It is important to have cleared this exam for lectureship in government colleges. Below are the details about the entrance exam. NET/SET Eligibility 1. Candidate should be post graduate. 2. PG degree must be obtained from UGC recognized college. 3. You will have to secure minimum of 55 percent marks in M.Tech. 4. If you belong to SC/ST then 50 percent marks are required. 5. During final year of M.Tech you can apply for the NET/SET exam. 6. However it is still important to meet percentage and submit degree in 2 years. 7. Your subject for NET/SET will depend on branch you choose for M.Tech. 8. There is no upper age limit to appear for NET, if applying for Lectureship. |
