Any chance to get into NIT or a good state government college after scoring 395 in GATE with 94.2 percentile? What is the criteria for PSU?


Hi all..

I got a GATE score of 395..and percentile 94.2..is there any chance of me getting into any NIT or good state government colleges? also what are the criteria for PSUs?

Hi

94.2 percentile is bit low for getting into IIT
You may find it difficult to get into top NIT as well.

You have not mentioned your branch. cut off varies from branch to branch.
for example, number of candidates appearing for mechanical or electrical are very high, thus for them 94.2 percentile is very low.
for them to get admission in NIT, they should have atleast 98 percentile and above.

You may get lower NIT, You may also try for other good colleges like BITS, VJTI, HBTI etc
