The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is a national level examination which is generally organized by eight zones i.e., One Indian Institute of Science(IISc),Bangalore and the Seven IITs(Bombay,Kharagpur,Kanpur,Guahati,Roorkee,Madra s,Delhi).

In this year 2011,the GATE 2011 is organized by Indian Institute of Technology,Madras
According to the Eligibility of the GATE:

You should have
1:a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology or Architecture or Pharmacy after 10+2.

2:a Master degree holders in any branch of Science like Physics,Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Applications etc....

or
3:You can also apply if you are in the final or pre-final year examination of the Master Degree.

In GATE-2011 you can apply in two ways
Online Application Process,
Offline Application Process.

From Sept 21, 2010 Application Form and Information Brochure is started to sell.

From Sept 21, 2010 the Online Application Form can be submitted from 09:00 am and onwards.

Application Form including information Brochure of GATE 2011 can be obtained on cash payment of Rs. 1000/- for General as well as OBC from the designated Bank Branches corresponding to each zone, and Rs. 500/- for SC/ST/PD.

mainly forms are available in the PNB bank but why are buy a form as you can fill it inline there are three methods to fill the GATE form
1-buy a form from bank or shop
2-download a challan slip and get it make through the bank
3-fill onlione pay through your ATM card or account.

Sorry to say from this year for gate 2012 form selling is stopped.from this onwards forms to be filled online only.download the proespectus from iit site.and forms to be filled online only.and printed copy is to send to concerned zone iit.more detail on www.iitd.gate.ac.in

Every year one of the IIT among all IITs organized the GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test Examination) exam like previous year it was organized by Indian Institute of Technology,Madras.
Generally the notification comes on last week of August or first week of September. Last date of submission was last week of December. The examination is held 2nd week of February every year and the result comes out after one month i.e. 2nd week of March.

In general SBI (State Bank of India) sells the GATE forms in different states in different centers.

Hello friend.

GATE stands for Graduation Aptitude Test for Engineering.


-it is conducted every year for taking admission in M.TECH.

- you can apply in final year.

- GATE score only valid for 1 year.

- There is no limit in how many years to complete engineering.

- there is no cut off in percentage to apply for the gate exam

- there is no age limit for applying for gate exam .

- though gate exam you get admission in IIT AND NIT COLLEGES AND SEVERAL OTHER COLLEGES .

- to take admission in IIT OR NIT COLLEGES you need to score above 99 percentile .

- to clear gate exam you should have good knowledge of your subjects .

- join a gate forum for good preparation .

From 2012 pre-final year student can not apply for the GATE EXAM ,only final year student can apply for it.

from this year onwards only we should apply on online. so no bank is selling gate application forms.
and the other major change is prefinal years can not write gate exam.

As GATE 2011 has already happened long time ago ,it doesnt matter you were eligible for that or not But You are not Eligible for GATE 2012.




Eligibility Criteria for GATE 2012 Examination is:
Students pursuing Bachelor's in Engineering/Technology/ Architecture or
Master's in any branch of Science/Mathematics/ Statistics/Computer Applications or
students in the final year of above mentioned course.

Note:
Students in their pre-final year are not eligible for GATE 2012 Examination.
