Hello everyone, I am doing MCA course and I want to become a Computer Science Teacher. So,I just want to know that I have to study BEd? Is it necessary to do BEd course for becoming a Computer Science Teacher?

If you want to become a Computer Teacher then it is compulsory to have a B.Ed degree in Computer Science stream.
It is compulsory to have B.Ed degree and without having this degree you are not eligible to apply for various teaching entrance tests like- TET, CTET, and many more.

Eligibility to pursue B.Ed are as follows:-
Candidate must be a graduation degree holder from a recognized university in any stream.
Candidate must have scored at least 50% aggregate in graduation.
Upper age limit is not declared.
Candidate must have to clear entrance test to get admission.

It depends whether you want to become a school teacher or you want to apply in a college. If you want to become a school teacher then you have to pursue B.Ed after completing your MCA or BCA but in order to apply in a college you need to qualify the NET examination.

Requirements to become a Computer Science Teacher:-

Different school or colleges have their own standard to select the faculty of different posts. If any person wants to become a computer science teacher then he / she must have some skills or qualities that are necessary for becoming a teacher.

All the fundamentals of computer science or computer application should be clear.

It is necessary for becoming a computer science teacher also should have command over C, C++, java, DBMS etc.

You also have knowledge of hardware. You should have knowledge of installation of computer system.

The minimum qualification one should have to be a computer science teacher in school or colleges is that of graduation such as BCA or MCA.

Yes, B.Ed course is necessary if you want to become a government teacher.

For becoming computer science teacher in government schools or colleges you need to have a graduation/ post graduation level degree in computer science related course from any recognised university and you also need to have a B.Ed degree because through B.Ed course you can learn teaching skills.

If you want to become a computer science teacher in private school or college you need to have a graduation/ post graduation level degree in computer science related stream from any recognised university. You need to attend the interview conducted by the school or college and if you meet their requirements then you'll be appointed as computer science teacher in their school or college.

So, B.Ed is necessary if you want to become a computer science teacher in government school/ college and it is not necessary if you want to become a computer science teacher in private school/ college.

Eligibility to Become Teacher:

Many people who interested to become teachers, are curious about the eligibility criteria. For those candidates, I am writing the full eligibility criteria to become teachers. Read the below paragraph carefully.

For 1 to 4 class teachers:

>> Candidates should complete graduation and should complete D.El.Ed course to be eligible to apply for CTET exam.

For 5 to 10 class teachers:

>> Candidates should complete graduation in the relevant subject and should complete two years B.Ed course to be eligible to apply for CTET exam.

For 11 to 12 class teachers:

>> Candidates should complete masters degree in the relevant subject and should complete two years B.Ed course to be eligible to apply for CTET exam.

***This eligibility criteria is same for all subject teachers. Yes, you have to complete B.Ed to become a computer science teacher.

Yes, you have to purse D.Ed or B.Ed course to appear in examination for recruitment as teacher.

The minimum required qualification to appear in examination is that candidate must have passed 12th or higher qualification with B.Ed or D.Ed qualification.

So, you can pursue the course and after qualifying in examination will become eligible to appear in examination for recruitment as teacher.

Is ctet / otet is required for computer teachers having MCA degree with more then 20 years of teaching experience in same school and completed B. Ed. ithis year -2019 ?
