Admission>>> AIMCET: Candidate must have passed +2 in any stream with mathematics as a main subject. Candidate should also be a graduate with at least 3 year degree. Final year student can also apply for this entrance. From year 2005 admissions to MCA programme at IIT Roorkee are also made through JAM which were previously only through AIMCET.

Full form of MCA is Masters in Computer Application. Duration of the course is three years and the whole three year course has been broken into six semesters. Admission to various institutes is usually done through various MCA Entrance Exams.

• You must possess a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university with not less than 50% of marks at graduation level. Some of the top colleges even asks for 60% of marks in aggregate or more. There is relaxation available for the reserved category candidates.
  
• You need to have mathematics as one of your compulsory subject at 10+2 level to sit for this exam. Some of the colleges also demands for mathematics and statistics as an optional subject during graduation.
  
• Final year students who are just about to sit for the final exam or awaiting the result of the final exam can also sit for this exam.

Entrance Exam Pattern:-

• Mostly the entrance exam questions are objective type but some institutes also mixes up and there can be all sorts of short answer questions, objective questions and long answer type questions.
  
• Basically the entrance exam consists of various sections like Mental Ability, English Comprehension, Analytical Ability & Logical Reasoning, Computer Awareness, Mathematics.
  
• While some of the colleges prefers to give more weightage to the entrance exam marks when making the merit list, there are some colleges which also conducts GD and PI round as well for shortlisting candidates.
