Re: Which is better M.Sc.IT or M.Sc.CS?
i think you should go for M.sc IT as this is much more closely related to the technical branch and will definitely help you a lot for getting this job than of M,Sc.CS

Re: Which is better M.Sc.IT or M.Sc.CS?
msc cs will be gud for you if youy want to work for iaf, and also it depends on your interest, if you do have interests in circuits and electronics then go for msc cs otherwise if you want only software engineering then go for msc it

Re: Which is better M.Sc.IT or M.Sc.CS?
M. Sc. in IT shall focus only on information and technology while pursuing M.Sc. in CS shall leave you with a larger option to chose from. but if you are sure and confident to join AIR Force, you might as well go for IT because that shall ensure you don't deviate from your aim.

Re: Which is better M.Sc.IT or M.Sc.CS?
Both the courses have same value but since you have done BSc (IT), you should go for MSc (IT). It's good that you want to work in IAF. To join Indian Air Force,
As an officer in the Technical Branch, you would be in charge of some of the most sophisticated equipment in the world. You can apply for the Technical Branch via any of the two schemes listed below: 1.Direct entry Scheme Educational Qualification (Aeronautical Engineer – Electronics) Minimum 60% marks in aggregate in all papers put together in. 2.University Entry Scheme--Educational Qualifications: The candidate must be currently studying in Pre-final year of BE / B Tech degree course in the relevant streams of engineering as mentioned above and must have secured minimum of 60% marks in aggregate upto the last semester for which results have been declared, at the time of applying / AFSB testing. There must be No backlog / arrears of papers of previous semesters. On completion of degree, minimum 60% of marks in aggregate are mandatory. So you go for it. For details and other information please visit http://careerairforce.nic.in/home.html. Good Luck. Last edited by princearyan; 7th April 2010 at 08:08 AM. |

Re: Which is better M.Sc.IT or M.Sc.CS?
Yes both the courses are of more or less same importance.
You can enter in IAF through following entry schemes:- UES: university entry scheme,is meant for all male and female candidates those who have attend there first university degree, that is (Bachelor degree) including B.tech also. Notification for it are released In Employment news. SSC: short service commission,is ment for all male and female candidates those who have B.sc/M.sc or B.tech/M.tech ( with atlest 60% aggregate) including all semester.Notification for it are released In Employment news. CDS: combined defence service,is ment for all male who have completed there bachelor degree. But i think B.sc (IT) does'nt comes under eligibilty criteria of CDS. M.sc (IT) or M.sc (CS) are recruited in technocal branch of IAF Specially for there Logistic or Ground duty Cadre. Best of luck |

Re: Which is better M.Sc.IT or M.Sc.CS?
here is the great confusion and a major differeence which people fail to understand about both the streams that you have asked, but as you have very clear with your aim, in such a case you are good to choose ant out of IT or CS branches because after doing both you are going to enter into IAF.
so it hardly maters which ever you choose or i would say which ne draws your intrest more go for it. and regarding the confusion about which i have talked earlier is like CS branch is more into technical job and needs to have software as well as some knowledge on maintainance of equipments where as IT line is completely software based more or less on a broad prosepctive both are same and go hand in hand, so you need not to worry if IAF is your aim then go for anyone of them which intrests you more.. as a personal openion as far as i know about IAF students with CS are having an upper hand. ... rest is all your choice... make it wisely... good luck .. byee take care ... and for any other querries about IAF or thier selection do write to me i will be glad to help... |

Re: Which is better M.Sc.IT or M.Sc.CS?
I think Punjab Technological University (PTU) is good for persuing M.sc (IT).
If you want to persue it through Distance mode then SMU will be better but if you switch to Regular then in my opinion PTU will be much better. That's because PTU has much better faculty and Placement record then SMU. Best of Luck |

MCA: If you have studied MAthematics in + 2 then you can opt for it. If you are not good with Programing no problem there you will learn everything. Promises better career option. MBA: You can opt for IT, System, MArketing as your specialisation for better career prospect. M.sc (CS): More or less Good option then IT. You can go for M.Tech after M.sc through GATE. M.sc (IT): Slightly typical to find good IT job, but doors of Government sectors are always open. Basically in Academics, Ministry of IT & Broadcasting etc... Regards ~Faiyaz~ |

Dont change your stream so like a "U" turn it will become difficult to handle. So, Better go for MBA. If your ultimate Goal is IT Industry then you can opt for MBA (IT) and I think its a better option then what you want to opt for for. Just think before acting. Best of Luck |

Yes why not............! Corresspondance dergee only creats little problem in getting into Big IT giants, otherwise for rest of of carer possibilities it is nice. And among SMU and PTU, I will prefer SMU for persuing MCA through corresspondance. SMU has Edunext facility, which will help you alot in your studies if you, since you will be studing without going to college. Once go through http://www.smude.edu.in/Pages/Welcome.aspx Regards ~Faiyaz~ |

dear friend,
there are very slightly difference between M.Sc(CS) & M.Sc (IT) as: M.sc (CS): More or less Good option then IT. You can go for M.Tech after M.sc through GATE. M.sc (IT): Slightly typical to find good IT job, but doors of Government sectors are always open. Basically in Academics, Ministry of IT & Broadcasting As you want to built your career in Air force, i would like to suggest you to do M.Sc(CS). Because it is some instant related to hardware which will helpful for you. good luck. |
