Which board and subjects will be the most suitable for 11th and 12th standard if I want to get into IIT?
Respected Sir/Madam,
I have recently given my ICSE std 10th board paper. Please sugeest the board and subjects that would be most suitable for in 11th and 12th std if i want to go into an IIT institute later. Thank you. |

It is normally said the syllabus is similar to the CBSE board. But there is no problem in continuing in the ICSE board. You can cover easily cover up the syllabus difference if any. It is better not to change boards at this stage. Also you must spend quality time for both the 12th standard and also the entrance exam.

I think CBSE and ICSE boards are very good , their syllabus is upto the level of IITjee and AIEEE.

I think every board is suitable for the 10+2 and subjects are same for all boards. You must have Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as main subject to appear in the IIT exam.

i have recently given 10th exam from ICSE board, i have heard from my seniors that cbse is most suitable for comptetion exams, it makes me confuse. please, make me sure which board is better cbse or ISC?

I think CBSE board will be the best if you opt to in Class 11 and 12.
Because, both in CBSE and ICSE syllabus is same as asked in IIT-JEE. But an ICSE student gets higher percentage than CBSE student in the Class 12. This is due to difference in marking system. And also, in CBSE a student has to study each and every deeply which is basically required in IIT-JEE exam. So, I think you should go with CBSE but if you want ICSE is also good for you. |
