CLAT Exam Details:

CLAT is the common law admission test which can be given to seek admission in the top national law universities in India for various under graduate and post graduate programs.

To sit for this exam you need to pass your 10+2 exam with minimum 50 percent of marks.

In case of SC/ST and OBC categories the percentage to secure is 45 percent.

While applying for this exam your age should not be more than 20 years. This is a rule mandatory for the general and OBC category. For the SC and ST candidates and persons with disabilities the upper age limit is 22 years.

For the post graduate program you need to have a LLB degree or BL degree from a recognized university.

You need to secure 55% of marks at graduation level. The aggregate should not be less than 50% in case of reserved categories.

CLAT Exam Pattern:

CLAT is an objective type test and total marks alloted is 200. There will be 200 questions all in all and the duration of the exam is two hours. Luckily there is no negative marking scheme to worry about.

Areas to give special importance:

English including Comprehension
General Knowledge/ Current Affairs
Elementary Mathematics
Legal Aptitude/Legal Awareness
Logical Reasoning

For the post graduate program as well total marks alloted is 200 marks and the duration of the paper is two hours. To prepare for this exam you need to give special importance to the following sections: Law of Contracts, Law of Torts, Criminal Law, Constitutional Law and Legal Theory.

this entrance exam gets you into India's premier law institutes.
andfor reference of books you can refer to many books on CLAT, CLAT examinations by arihant , tata mc graw hill and many other publications..
they have previous year questions. and solved problems. so can practice a lot and crack CLAT.

For admission to the National law colleges you have to give the CLAT or Common Law Entrance Test

Educational Qualifications required to sit in this exam is: 12th Pass with Minimum 45% marks
Age- Maximum age to apply is 20 years


Questions will be asked from the below sections in the written test:
English including Comprehension - 40 marks
Legal Aptitude- 50 marks
Elementary Mathematics (Numerical Ability) 20 marks
Logical Reasoning – 40 marks
General Knowledge/ Current Affairs – 50 Marks
